Posing this question today would likely elicit very different answers. Some might say that the good life means doing good-improving one's community and the lives of others. Others might respond that it means doing well-cultivating one's own abilities in a meaningful way. But for Aristotle these two distinct ideas-doing good and doing well-were one and the same and could be realized in a single life. In Confronting Aristotle's Ethics, Eugene Garver examines how we can draw this conclusion from Aristotle's works, while also studying how this conceptionEthicsEthics.171/.3Garver Eugene506868MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910965312203321Confronting Aristotle's Ethics4365634UNINA01622nas 2200517 c 450 991089443870332120240131140156.0urn:nbn:de:hbz:6:2-48325(CKB)3790000000115401(OCoLC)1184249997(OCoLC)612308767(OCoLC)645409428(DE-101)986106909(DE-599)ZDB2392729-X(EXLCZ)99379000000011540120071022b19792015 |y |gerur|||||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrier˜_M63_a63_t63_i63_k63œ [Matik]das Magazin der Studierenden Mathematik/InformatikHrsg.: Fachschaftsrat Mathematik/InformatikPaderbornFachschaftsrat Mathematik/Informatik1979-2015Online-RessourceGesehen am 10.04.20181865-0546 MatikMathematik InformatikMathematik(DE-588)4037944-9https://d-nb.info/gnd/4037944-9(DE-101)040379442gndInformatik(DE-588)4026894-9https://d-nb.info/gnd/4026894-9(DE-101)040268942gndZeitschriftgnd-contentZeitschriftgndOnline-PublikationgndMathematik.Informatik.51000437099 ; Paderborn794010nwbib1141DE-1019999JOURNAL9910894438703321_M63_a63_t63_i63_k63 Matik4440575UNINA03454nam 22004693 450 991016322130332120250731080249.097817828978281782897828(CKB)3710000001046189(BIP)054487265(VLeBooks)9781782897828(Perlego)3018305(MiAaPQ)EBC32229075(Au-PeEL)EBL32229075(OCoLC)1530378384(Exl-AI)993710000001046189(Exl-AI)32229075(EXLCZ)99371000000104618920250731d2014 uy 0engurcnu||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierThe Brown Water Navy in the Mekong Delta1st ed.TBD :Normanby Press,2014.©2014.1 online resource (49 p.) Using fear and terror tactics, the insurgency gained control of the population creating a safe haven for the movement to thrive and expand. The United States and the Government of South Vietnam recognized the infiltration problem in the Mekong Delta but their military organizations were either unable or incapable to deal with the problem. The geography of the region made it impossible for a U.S. Army or Marine Corps division to operate effectively and the South Vietnamese Army and Navy lacked the training and equipment to operate successfully. In response to these obstacles, Secretary of Defense, Robert McNamara, commissioned the U.S. Navy to develop a fighting force capable of operating in the delta and ridding the region of the Viet Cong influence. The Navy used for main Operations: MARKET TIME, GAME WARDEN,-The Mobile Riverine Force, and SEALORDS to achieve these goals. In four short years the Brown Water Sailors experienced marked success with Viet Cong influence minimized and resupply efforts rerouted to the tortuous Ho Chi Minh Trail. However, by the end of 1968 American resolve to fight a war in South Vietnam had deteriorated and the Government needed a way out. President Nixon's Vietnamization program provided the exit for American forces and in turn mitigated the Brown Water Navy's successes of the previous four years. The Brown Water Navy overcame tremendous obstacles in less than one year to create and deploy a formidable fighting force to the Mekong Delta. In four years aggressive strides against the Viet Cong insurgency were achieved only to be mitigated by the effects of Vietnamization.CounterinsurgencyGenerated by AICounterinsurgencySessoms Lieutenant Commander Richard1433877MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910163221303321The Brown Water Navy in the Mekong Delta4411841UNINA
