These unique texts from Novgorod and surroundings give us an exceptional impression of everyday life in medieval Russian society. In this study, the birchbark letters are addressed from a pragmatic angle. Linguistic parameters are identified that shed light on the degree to which literacy had gained ground in communicative processes. It is demonstrated that the birchbark letters occupy an intermediate position between orality and literacy. On the one hand, oral habits of communication persisted, as reflected in how the birchbark letters are phrased; on the other hand, literate modes of expression emerged, as seen in the development of normative conventions and literate formulae.Studies in Slavic and General Linguistics42.Bark inscriptionsRussia (Federation)Velikiĭ NovgorodInscriptions, Russian (Old)Russia (Federation)Velikiĭ NovgorodBark inscriptionsRussia (Federation)Novgorodskai͡a oblastʹInscriptions, Russian (Old)Russia (Federation)Novgorodskai͡a oblastʹElectronic books.Bark inscriptionsInscriptions, Russian (Old)Bark inscriptionsInscriptions, Russian (Old)411/.7094722Dekker Simeon1067966NL-LeKBNL-LeKBBOOK9910511900603321Old Russian birchbark letters2552286UNINA01691nam0 22003253i 450 UBO123219420231121125855.0884490145520051123d2000 ||||0itac50 baitaitz01i xxxe z01nCondizioni generali relative al rapporto banca-clienteprotocollo di intesa tra Associazione bancaria italiana e Associazione consumatori utenti, Adiconsum, Associazione difesa e orientamento consumatori, Federconsumatori, Lega consumatori ACLI, Movimento consumatori, Movimento difesa del cittadino, Unione nazionale consumatoriRomaBancaria editrice200048 p.30 cm.BancheOrganizzazioneRapporti con i clientiFIRRMLC400353I332.1068821ABI <Associazione bancaria italiana>CFIV013528Associazione bancaria italiana : Area studi e tecnologieCFIV013529ABI <Associazione bancaria italiana>Associazione bancaria italianaCFIV209161ABI <Associazione bancaria italiana>ITIT-0120051123IT-RM1164 IT-FR0098 Biblioteca Luca Pacioli Dipartimento RagioneriaRM1164 Biblioteca Area Giuridico EconomicaFR0098 UBO1232194Biblioteca Area Giuridico Economica 53IMP 332.106/9 53VM 0000109825 VM barcode:ECO014795. - Inventario:5952. - Fondo:Sala consultazioneVMA 2001070220121204 40 53CONDIZIONI generali relative al rapporto banca-cliente663003UNICAS
