It seeks to provide an objective and balanced perspective, and neither rejects the idea of victims’ participation nor seeks to extend it beyond the contours determined by the founders of the ICC. The author contributes to the existing debate in academia and in practice by delineating the core, most complex and contentious matters ensuing from the role assigned to victims. The scrupulously selected issues unveil and blueprint the essential characteristics that delimit the standing of victims as independent actors in the ICC’s arena, distinct from the parties and other non-party participants. As an integral part of the ICC’s synergy, victims converge and interact with its other components. Therefore, the position and role of victims are contemplated in the context of the Court’s procedural mechanism and the mission pursued by the parties and the Chamber. The philosophy underpinning the ICC’s design and the standing of victims therein also requires analysis from a wider perspective. Accordingly, the volume draws an in-depth parallel with relevant developments and trends at the international and domestic level. Close attention is paid to the legal instruments and jurisprudence of international(ized) criminal justice bodies, human rights institutions and non-criminal jurisdictions to the extent useful for shedding further light on the issues at hand. Recourse is also made to various national systems, whenever relevant.Victims of crimes (International law)Criminal procedure (International law)Locus standiElectronic books.Victims of crimes (International law)Criminal procedure (International law)Locus standi.345/.0122Bachvarova Tatiana1067244NL-LeKBNL-LeKBBOOK9910511440903321The standing of victims in the procedural design of the International Criminal Court2550763UNINA04192nam 2200529 450 99654795830331620230801215539.09783031308550(electronic bk.)978303130854310.1007/978-3-031-30855-0(MiAaPQ)EBC7242410(Au-PeEL)EBL7242410(DE-He213)978-3-031-30855-0(OCoLC)1378075679(PPN)269656472(EXLCZ)992652549350004120230801d2023 uy 0engurcnu||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierIntelligent transport systems 6th EAI international conference, INTSYS 2022, Lisbon, Portugal, December 15-16, 2022, proceedings /edited by Ana-Lucia Martins [and three others]1st ed. 2023.Cham, Switzerland :Springer,[2023]©20231 online resource (239 pages)Lecture Notes of the Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering,1867-822X ;486Print version: Martins, Ana-Lucia Intelligent Transport Systems Cham : Springer International Publishing AG,c2023 9783031308543 Includes bibliographical references and index.Smart City -- Analysis of the Tourists behavior in Lisbon using Data from a Mobile Operator -- Data driven spatiotemporal analysis of e-cargo bike network in Lisbon and its expansion: the Yoob case study -- Analyzing urban mobility based on smartphone data: the Lisbon case study -- Traceability, Optimization and Cooperative Vehicles Platooning -- Development of a hardware in the Loop Ad-Hoc Testbed for Cooperative Vehicles Platooning -- Optimal Control Based Trajectory Planning under Uncertainty -- Traceable distribution of fish products: state of the art of blockchain technology applications to fish supply chains -- Transportation modes and AI -- Train rides through Europe – Which changes do the passengers need? -- Adaptive Dimming of Highway Lights using Recurrent Neural Networks -- Berth Allocation Problem in Export Tidal Bulk Ports with Inventory Control -- Intelligent Transportation and Electric Vehicle -- Bus Journey Time Prediction: A Comparison of Whole Route and Segment Journey Time Predictions using Machine Learning -- Detection of Distracted Driving: a Smartphone-based Approach -- Detection of Invisible/Occluded Vehicles Using Passive RFIDs -- Predictive Energy Management for Battery Electric Vehicles with Hybrid Models -- Vehicle Routing Problem for an Integrated Electric Vehicles and Drones System -- Integrated Passenger–Freight Transportation Model: Metro of Quito (Ecuador) as a Case Study. This book constitutes the proceedings of the 6th International Conference on Intelligent Transport Systems, INTSYS 2022, which was held in Lisbon, Portugal, in December 15-16, 2022. With the globalization of trade and transportation and the consequent multi-modal solutions used, additional challenges are faced by organizations and countries. Intelligent Transport Systems make transport safer, more efficient, and more sustainable by applying information and communication technologies to all transportation modes. The 15 revised full papers in this book were selected from 45 submissions and are organized in three thematic sessions on smart city; transportation modes and AI; intelligent transportation and electric vehicles.Lecture Notes of the Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering,1867-822X ;486Electronics in transportationHighway communicationsIntelligent transportation systemsStandardsElectronics in transportation.Highway communications.Intelligent transportation systemsStandards.625.794Martins Ana LúciaMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQ996547958303316Intelligent Transport Systems3359507UNISA02063nas 2200541-a 450 99623482920331620240413021904.0(CKB)110978977565519(CONSER)---84645193-(MiAaPQ)30496(EXLCZ)9911097897756551919810619b19802000 --- aengtxtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierQuarterly review of doublespeak /Committee on Public Doublespeak[Urbana, Ill.] [Committee on Public Doublespeak of the National Council of Teachers of English][1980]-1 online resourceTitle from caption.Refereed/Peer-reviewedPrint version: Quarterly review of doublespeak / 0735-5920 (DLC) 84645193 (OCoLC)7516558 Q. rev. doublespeakEnglish languageErrors of usagePeriodicalsEnglish languageJargonPeriodicalsCommunication in politicsUnited StatesPeriodicalsPropaganda, AmericanPeriodicalsCommunication in politicsfast(OCoLC)fst00870243English languageErrors of usagefast(OCoLC)fst00911147English languageJargonfast(OCoLC)fst00911323Propaganda, Americanfast(OCoLC)fst01078968United StatesfastPeriodicals.fastEnglish languageErrors of usageEnglish languageJargonCommunication in politicsPropaganda, AmericanCommunication in politics.English languageErrors of usage.English languageJargon.Propaganda, American.427/.973/05National Council of Teachers of English.Committee on Public Doublespeak.JOURNAL996234829203316exl_impl conversionQuarterly review of doublespeak2357952UNISA
