For all of the diversity in cultural practice in the civilisations of the Greek mainland and Aegean islands, Crete, Cyprus and the eastern coast of Italy between 4000-750 BC, archaeologists consider the custom of ritually killing objects as a normative, if inconsistent practice. Yet as artefacts that are alike only in that they have been disarticulated, intentionally destroyed objects defy easy characterization. Such pieces frequently stand outside of clearly defined patterns. This volume is an initial step in addressing a gap in the scholarship by aiming to deconstruct and contextualize the practice of intentional fragmentation. The case studies in this volume present a diverse range of evidence, including pottery, lithics, metals, jewellery, figurines, buildings and human remains, in an exploration of the wide spectrum of meanings behind material destruction.Cultural propertyDestruction and pillageGreeceCongressesCultural propertyDestruction and pillageCyprusCongressesBronze ageGreeceCongressesBronze ageCyprusCongressesAntiquitiesfast(OCoLC)fst00810745Bronze agefast(OCoLC)fst00839439Cultural propertyDestruction and pillagefast(OCoLC)fst01910937GreeceAntiquitiesCongressesCyprusAntiquitiesCongressesCyprusfastGreecefastConference papers and proceedings.fastCultural propertyDestruction and pillageCultural propertyDestruction and pillageBronze ageBronze ageAntiquities.Bronze age.Cultural propertyDestruction and pillage.930Bourbou Chryssi478198Boyd Michael J1455506Chapman John488225Denti Mario31343Driessen Jan488097Frankel David215283Harrell Kate1455507Knappett Carl478194Nanoglou Stratos1455508Pantelidou Gofa Maria1455509Renfrew Colin164593Vavouranakis Giorgos777339Webb Jennifer M531948Harrell Kate1455507Driessen Jan488097FR-FrMaCLEBOOK9910495837603321THRAVSMA3657280UNINA04187nam 22006615 450 991029836040332120230810194858.09783319971513331997151410.1007/978-3-319-97151-3(CKB)4100000005679190(MiAaPQ)EBC5491591(DE-He213)978-3-319-97151-3(PPN)252536746(Perlego)3483399(EXLCZ)99410000000567919020180810d2018 u| 0engurcnu||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierMusic Interventions for Neurodevelopmental Disorders /by Alessandro Antonietti, Barbara Colombo, Braelyn R. Rehabilitation interventions based on the use of music, termed "music therapy", are relatively widespread, but not all are supported by empirical evidence. This book offers readers an updated and scientifically grounded perspective on this theory and argues that music can be effective in promoting the acquisition of some basic mental abilities. Chapters present some of the latest research and data on how musical activities can lead children affected by neurodevelopmental disorders to improve those skills, including examples of training programs and exercises. The book will be a valuable resource for therapists, rehabilitators, psychologists, educators, musicians, researchers, as well as anyone interested in exploring the potential in music for human growth. Alessandro Antonietti is Professor of Applied Cognitive Psychology at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Italy. There he is the head of the Department of Psychology and coordinates the Cognitive Psychology Lab. His research interests lie in the applications of cognitive issues in the field of instruction and rehabilitation. Barbara Colombo is Associate Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at Champlain College, USA, where she is Head of the Neuroscience Lab. Her most recent research has been focused on exploring the role of individual differences in modulating cognitive and emotional behaviours. Braelyn R. DeRocher is affiliated with the Neuroscience Lab at Champlain College, USA. His research interests are related to empathy, aggression, and personal empowerment, focusing on at-risk youth.Clinical psychologyPsychologyMethodologyPsychologyTherapeuticsMusicClinical PsychologyPsychological MethodsBehavioral Sciences and PsychologyTherapeuticsMusicClinical psychology.PsychologyMethodology.Psychology.Therapeutics.Music.Clinical Psychology.Psychological Methods.Behavioral Sciences and Psychology.Therapeutics.Music.618.9280475Antonietti Alessandroauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut329430Colombo Barbaraauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/autDeRocher Braelyn Rauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/autBOOK9910298360403321Music Interventions for Neurodevelopmental Disorders2056954UNINA
