Our indexing system, IndDoc, exploits some terminological tools and automatically builds an index draft of the analysis of the document text. The indexer then has to validate that index draft through a dedicated interface. This approach has been tested on several documents with promising results. Tout suggère une passion grecque pour la couleur étendue à tout type de production (vêtements, vaisselle, cosmétiques, statues, édifices etc.) sur tout support, dans tous les domaines de la vie, funéraire compris. Mais que savons-nous réellement des arts de la couleur eux-mêmes, des matériaux et des savoir-faire qui ont fait son succès ? Peut-on en apprécier l’impact économique et social ? N’est-il pas urgent à présent de mesurer aussi les conséquences esthétiques d’une telle révolution polychrome ? L’incolore y trouvait-il malgré tout sa place ? Les couleurs étaient-elles filles d’illusion, y compris sur le plan politique ? L’ouvrage aborde ces questions en toute liberté d’investigation interdisciplinaire. Il réunit pour cela spécialistes venus de tout horizon scientifique, archéologues, architectes, chimistes, conservateurs de musées, historiens, historiens de l’art, restaurateurs. Pour éclairer cette expérience grecque unique de la couleur, on a souhaité aussi la mesurer aux expressions qu’en ont explorées d’autres cultures, d’autres religions, à d’autres époques : Étrusques, Romains, Moyen Âge, Renaissance, époque contemporaine. It is widely assumed nowadays that colours and gold played a major role in ancient Greek societies throughout the centuries. This Greek passion for colouring concerned any kind of production (clothes, glasses, make up, sculpture, monuments and so on), on any support and involving any aspect of life, death included. What do we really know about these Arts of colouring, their successful materials and processes themselves? Can we estimate their economic and social impact?
