Le récit, inséré dans la version la plus étendue en moyen néerlandais de la trilogie Lancelot - Queste del Saint Graal - Mort le roi Artu, la Lancelotcompilatie, présente un grand intérêt pour les médiévistes européens car c’est un des quatre romans arthuriens en moyen néerlandais, considérés comme « originaux », leur modèle français n’étant pas attesté à ce jour. Gauvain, Lancelot et Perceval, sont présents du début à la fin du récit. Les quêtes et aventures racontées, les motifs évoqués sont caractéristiques de la « matière de Bretagne ». La technique narrative de l’auteur/ narrateur rappelle celle du roman arthurien en vers, mais aussi celle du roman en prose avec ses annonces et clôtures d’épisodes. Consent, or choice, is not an effective ethical tool in public ethics and is particularly problematic in the governance of genetics. Heather Widdows suggests using alternative and additional ethical tools and argues that if individuals are to flourish it is necessary to recognise and respect communal and public goods as well as individual goods. To do this she suggests a two-step process - the 'ethical toolbox'.
