Solving optimization problems under stochastic uncertainty by Random Search Methods(RSM).This book examines application and methods to incorporating stochastic parameter variations into the optimization process to decrease expense in corrective measures. Basic types of deterministic substitute problems occurring mostly in practice involve i) minimization of the expected primary costs subject to expected recourse cost constraints (reliability constraints) and remaining deterministic constraints, e.g. box constraints, as well as ii) minimization of the expected total costs (costs of construction, design, recourse costs, etc.) subject to the remaining deterministic constraints. After an introduction into the theory of dynamic control systems with random parameters, the major control laws are described, as open-loop control, closed-loop, feedback control and open-loop feedback control, used for iterative construction of feedback controls. For approximate solution of optimization and control problems with random parameters and involving expected cost/loss-type objective, constraint functions, Taylor expansion procedures, and Homotopy methods are considered, Examples and applications to stochastic optimization of regulators are given. Moreover, for reliability-based analysis and optimal design problems, corresponding optimization-based limit state functions are constructed. Because of the complexity of concrete optimization/control problems and their lack of the mathematical regularity as required of Mathematical Programming (MP) techniques, other optimization techniques, like random search methods (RSM) became increasingly important. Basic results on the convergence and convergence rates of random search methods are presented. Moreover, for the improvement of the – sometimes very low – convergence rate of RSM, search methods based on optimal stochastic decision processes are presented. In order to improve the convergence behavior of RSM, the random search procedure is embedded into a stochastic decision process for an optimal control of the probability distributions of the search variates (mutation random variables). .International series in operations research & management science ;Volume 296.Operations researchStochastic processesOperations research.Stochastic processes.658.4034Marti Kurt223988MiAaPQMiAaPQUtOrBLWBOOK9910427046303321Optimization under stochastic uncertainty2222510UNINA02756nam 2200481 450 991048469310332120211015182033.0981-16-0332-410.1007/978-981-16-0332-7(CKB)4100000011797634(DE-He213)978-981-16-0332-7(MiAaPQ)EBC6518447(Au-PeEL)EBL6518447(OCoLC)1243535935(PPN)254722199(EXLCZ)99410000001179763420211015d2021 uy 0engurnn|008mamaatxtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierPrinciples and technologies of flotation machines /Zhengchang Shen1st ed. 2021.Beijing, China ;Gateway East, Singapore :Metallurigical Industry Press :Springer,[2021]©20211 online resource (XIII, 487 p. 345 illus., 257 illus. in color.) Froth flotation is one of the most important mineral processing techniques. Over 90% of the nonferrous minerals and 50% of the ferrous minerals in the world are treated using flotation: a complicated technique including procedures from chemistry, physics and multi-scale fluid mechanics. The book introduces readers to air-forced and air-induced flotation cells and discusses the various mechanical structures and working principles involved. A number of examples from industrial engineering practice are also discussed throughout the book, helping readers to better understand the technology and relevant equipment. The book is intended for researchers, professionals and graduate students in the fields of mining and mineral processing engineering.Springer Tracts in Mechanical Engineering,2195-9862FlotationFlotation.622.752Shen Zhengchang847321MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910484693103321Principles and technologies of flotation machines1892653UNINA03519nam 2200565 a 450 991079200070332120230725021240.00-87586-824-X(CKB)2560000000072587(EBL)684495(OCoLC)714569698(SSID)ssj0000539399(PQKBManifestationID)12188517(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000539399(PQKBWorkID)10570590(PQKB)11170269(MiAaPQ)EBC684495(Au-PeEL)EBL684495(CaPaEBR)ebr10476733(EXLCZ)99256000000007258720110103d2011 uy 0engurcn|||||||||txtccrNational integration and contested autonomy[electronic resource] the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua /edited by Luciano BaraccoNew York Algora Pub.c20111 online resource (358 p.)Description based upon print version of record.0-87586-822-3 Includes bibliographical references and index.Preface; Introduction; Chapter 1. The book provides a wide overview of the autonomy process by looking at the historical background of autonomy, claims to land, language rights, and land demarcation and communal forestry projects. This book seeks to satisfy the globally emerging interest in the idea of autonomy and bi-zonality as an effective mechanism of conflict resolution and protection of minority rigMiskito IndiansNicaraguaGovernment relationsMiskito IndiansPolitics and governmentMosquitia (Nicaragua and Honduras)Politics and governmentAtlantic Coast (Nicaragua)HistoryAutonomy and independence movementsMiskito IndiansGovernment relations.Miskito IndiansPolitics and government.972.85Baracco Luciano1508662MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910792000703321National integration and contested autonomy3812865UNINA
