Part one addresses the CBGM’s history and reception before providing a fresh statement of its principles and procedures. Parts two and three consider the method’s ability to recover the initial text and to delineate its history. A new portion of the global stemma is presented for the first time and important conclusions are drawn about the nature of the initial text, scribal habits, and the origins of the Byzantine text. A final chapter suggests improvements and highlights limitations. Overall, the CBGM is positively assessed but not without important criticisms and cautions.New Testament tools, studies and documents ;Volume 55.Electronic books.225.4046Gurry Peter J.1055926MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910467757003321A critical examination of the coherence-based genealogical method in New Testament textual criticism2489757UNINA03141nam 2200505 450 991047997470332120170817212519.090-04-32299-X10.1163/9789004322998(CKB)3710000000894482(PQKBManifestationID)16496661(PQKBWorkID)15028959(PQKB)23570270(MiAaPQ)EBC4715160(nllekb)BRILL9789004322998(EXLCZ)99371000000089448220161020h20162016 uy 0engurcnu||||||||txtccrArt and the brain plasticity, embodiment, and the unclosed circle /by Amy IoneLeiden, The Netherlands ;Boston, [Massachusetts] :Brill Rodopi,2016.©20161 online resource (380 pages) color illustrations, photographsConsciousness, Literature and the Arts,1573-2193 ;Volume 47Bibliographic Level Mode of Issuance: Monograph90-04-32298-1 Includes bibliographical references and index.Preliminary Material -- Introduction -- Framing Art and the Brain -- Ancient Foundations -- The Brain Exposed and Printed -- The Soul of the Empirical Brain: Thomas Willis and René Descartes -- The Empirical Brain in Context -- The Wondrous Book of the Human Brain in 3-Dimensions -- Art, Anatomy, and the Hunter Brothers -- Art and Anatomy: Critics and Hired Hands -- Electricity Sparks the Imagination -- The Promethean Human -- Human Autonomy and Light -- Human Physiognomy, Psychology, and Brain Functions -- Technological Innovations and the Nervous System -- The Possible, Improbable, and Realization of the Magical -- Perception and Frames of Reference -- Postscript: The Malleability of History -- Bibliography -- Index. In her new book Art and the Brain: Plasticity, Embodiment and the Unclosed Circle , Amy Ione offers a profound assessment of our ever-evolving view of the biological brain as it pertains to embodied human experience. She deftly takes the reader from Deep History into our current worldview by surveying the range of nascent responses to perception, thoughts and feelings that have bred paradigmatic changes and led to contemporary research modalities. Interweaving carefully chosen illustrations with the emerging ideas of brain function that define various time periods reinforces a multidisciplinary framework connecting neurological research, theories of mind, art investigations, and intergenerational cultural practices. The book will serve as a foundation for future investigations of neuroscience, art, and the humanities.Consciousness, literature & the arts ;Volume 47.Neurosciences and the artsElectronic books.Neurosciences and the arts.700.19Ione Amy480141MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910479974703321Art and the brain2254045UNINA
