This reader is built around three themes arranged according to complementary points of view to stimulate thought on the subject of variation as it is approached today. The first theme, “The social dimension of variation”, includes three contributions dealing with variation across different categories of speakers. This reflects not only the expert/layperson dichotomy but also other more original polarities as the emotional dimension and the issue of diastratic variation across LSPs. The second part of this reader puts forward different tools and methods to identify, describe and manage term variation. The third theme of this reader questions semantics of term variation through the topics of concept saturation, multidimensionality and metaphor. Variation, through this picture of current studies, proves to be the touchstone for the understanding of the major issues of terminology research today. The included papers draw on research in terminology carried out in different language communities - Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian and Dutch in particular - thereby opening up a window on much of the research carried out in these cultural areas.Terminology and lexicography research and practice ;18.LexicographyTerminologyLexicographyVariationLanguage and languagesTerminologyLexicostatisticsComputational linguisticsElectronic books.LexicographyLexicographyVariation.Language and languagesLexicostatistics.Computational linguistics.417.7Drouin Patrick1073496Francoeur Aline953388Humbley J(John)1073497Picton Aurélie10734989910466755703321Multiple perspectives on terminological variation2569633UNINA04879nam 22006735 450 991036993530332120200703054027.03-030-23417-710.1007/978-3-030-23417-1(CKB)4100000009758981(DE-He213)978-3-030-23417-1(MiAaPQ)EBC5972835(PPN)24282577X(EXLCZ)99410000000975898120191105d2020 u| 0engurnn|008mamaatxtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierCentral Nervous System Metastases /edited by Manmeet Ahluwalia, Philippe Metellus, Riccardo Soffietti1st ed. 2020.Cham :Springer International Publishing :Imprint: Springer,2020.1 online resource (XIII, 421 p. 45 illus., 37 illus. in color.) 3-030-23416-9 PREFACE -- I Epidemiology -- II Pathology and Biology -- 1 Pathology of brain metastases -- 2 Translationnal approaches -- 3 Molecular mechanisms driving brain metastases development -- 4 Genomics characterization of BM -- 5 BM cell partners and tumor microenvironment -- 6 Experimental models of Brain Metastases -- III Clinical presentation and symptom management -- 7 Clinical presentation -- 8 Epilepsy in CNS metastases -- 9 Safety, tolerability and use of steroids in CNS metastasis patients -- 10 Thrombo-embolic complications in BM patients -- IV Imaging -- 11 BM diagnosis and monitoring -- 12 Metabolic imaging of BM -- 13 Radiation necrosis and progression assessment and definition -- V Surgery -- 14 Modern surgical techniques -- 15 Quality of surgical resection assessment -- 16 Indications and emerging concepts in the era molecular biology -- VI Radiation Therapy -- 17 Stereotatic radiosurgery -- 18 WBRT -- 19 Combined radiation therapy and systemic treatment -- VII Systemic treatment -- 20 Lung -- 21 Breast.-. 22 Melanoma -- 23 Miscellaneous -- VIII Neurocognition and QoL -- IV Leptomeningeal disease -- X Prevention/Prohylaxis strategies -- XI Prognosis and prognostic models -- XII Clinical trials / Endpoints and outcome assessment. .This book provides a comprehensive overview of brain metastases, from the molecular biology aspects to therapeutic management and perspectives. Due to the increasing incidence of these tumors and the urgent need to effectively control brain metastatic diseases in these patients, new therapeutic strategies have emerged in recent years. The volume discusses all these innovative approaches combined with new surgical techniques (fluorescence, functional mapping, integrated navigation), novel radiation therapy techniques (stereotactic radiosurgery) and new systemic treatment approaches such as targeted- and immunotherapy. These combination strategies represent a new therapeutic model in brain metastatic patients in which each medical practitioner (neurosurgeon, neurologist, medical oncologist, radiation oncologist) plays a pivotal role in defining the optimal treatment in a multidisciplinary approach. Written by recognized experts in the field, this book is a valuable tool for neurosurgeons, neuro-oncologists, neuroradiologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, cognitive therapists, basic scientists and students working in the area of brain tumors.Nervous systemSurgeryRadiotherapyOncologyCancerResearchQuality of lifeNeurosurgeryhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/H39000Radiotherapyhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/H29056Oncologyhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/H33160Cancer Researchhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/B11001Quality of Life Researchhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/X23000Nervous systemSurgery.Radiotherapy.Oncology.CancerResearch.Quality of life.Neurosurgery.Radiotherapy.Oncology.Cancer Research.Quality of Life Research.617.48616.9948Ahluwalia Manmeetedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtMetellus Philippeedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtSoffietti Riccardoedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910369935303321Central Nervous System Metastases2083300UNINA
