Die Studie entwickelt einen Ansatz, in dem sie Region erstmalig aus der Sicht von Erwachsenen- und Weiterbildungsorganisationen betrachtet. Interviews mit leitenden Akteur:innen der Weiterbildung aus zwei Grenzregionen zeigen, dass die Region eine didaktische Perspektive als Lern- und Bildungsort erhalten kann. Netzwerke können neue Handlungsräume erschließen und die Bildungsarbeit sowie die Aneignung von physischer Lebenswelt erweitern. Aus dem Anspruch an inhaltliche Bildungsarbeit zwischen Markt und Auftrag entstehen Inhalte, die grenz- und sozialraumübergreifend angeboten und eingesetzt werden können. Die Studie ist ein Plädoyer für die stärkere Berücksichtigung von Lerninhalten und den Einsatz sozialräumlicher Methoden bei der Erforschung und Entwicklung von Regionen in der Erwachsenenbildung. Which new impulses can the term "region" provide within the fields of adult and further education? The approach presented in this paper is the first one to examine "region" from the viewpoint of adult and further education. Interviews with leading actors in further education from two different border regions suggest that the region may be assigned a didactical perspective as a place of learning and education. Networks can provide access to new spheres of activity and extend educational work as well as the acquisition of physical living environments. The objective of content-oriented educational work between market and order generates contents that can be applied across borders and social spaces.
