This monograph examines the militaries of Nigeria, Argentina, Egypt and India in times of crisis to challenge these assumptions. The book shows that despite having broad similarities, each of these states had unique characteristics that impacted their military effectiveness in different ways. These key variables included the military institutions’ maturity and skill sets, the availability and management of human and material resources, and the quality of both civil and military leadership.History of Warfare88.Armed ForcesHistory20th centuryCommand of troopsCase studiesMilitary art and scienceHistory20th centuryMilitary readinessCase studiesPostcolonialismCase studiesElectronic books.Armed ForcesHistoryCommand of troopsMilitary art and scienceHistoryMilitary readinessPostcolonialism355/.0332Barua Pradeep897910MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910463145203321The military effectiveness of post-colonial states2006084UNINA02481nam 2200601 a 450 991078632610332120200520144314.01-283-65804-61-61048-921-7(CKB)2670000000277771(EBL)1042019(SSID)ssj0000755821(PQKBManifestationID)11423515(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000755821(PQKBWorkID)10730930(PQKB)11527851(MiAaPQ)EBC1042019(Au-PeEL)EBL1042019(CaPaEBR)ebr10612979(CaONFJC)MIL397054(OCoLC)854969123(EXLCZ)99267000000027777120120713d2012 uy 0engur|n|---|||||txtccrGetting it right[electronic resource] the essential elements of a dissertation /Raymond L.
