Cuba's Racial Crucible explores the historical dynamics behind Cuban racial identities by highlighting the racially-selective reproductive practices and genealogical memories associated with family formation. Karen Y. Morrison reads archival, oral-history, and literary sources to demonstrate the ideological centrality and inseparability of race, nation, and family in definitions of Cubanidad. Morrison analyzes the conditions that supported the social advance and decline of notions of white racial superiority, nationalist projections of racial hybridity, and pride in African descent that influenced, but also were shaped by, Cuban men and women's every day, racially-oriented choices in creating families"--Provided by publisher.Blacks in the diaspora.Black peopleRace identityCubaHistoryWhite peopleRace identityCubaHistoryRacially mixed peopleRace identityCubaHistoryHuman reproductionSocial aspectsCubaHistoryHuman reproductionEconomic aspectsCubaHistoryGenealogySocial aspectsCubaHistoryFamiliesCubaHistoryNationalismSocial aspectsCubaHistoryCubaRace relationsHistoryCubaRace relationsEconomic aspectsHistoryElectronic books.Black peopleRace identityHistory.White peopleRace identityHistory.Racially mixed peopleRace identityHistory.Human reproductionSocial aspectsHistory.Human reproductionEconomic aspectsHistory.GenealogySocial aspectsHistory.FamiliesHistory.NationalismSocial aspectsHistory.305.80097291Morrison Karen Y.930432MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910460295003321Cuba's racial crucible2092856UNINA05106nam 22008535 450 991048348660332120200630005409.03-540-44728-810.1007/11866763(CKB)1000000000283924(SSID)ssj0000589896(PQKBManifestationID)11353894(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000589896(PQKBWorkID)10665376(PQKB)10002203(SSID)ssj0000715739(PQKBManifestationID)11488509(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000715739(PQKBWorkID)10704464(PQKB)24815722(DE-He213)978-3-540-44728-3(MiAaPQ)EBC3068107(PPN)123138477(EXLCZ)99100000000028392420100427d2006 u| 0engurnn|008mamaatxtccrMedical Image Computing and Computer-Assisted Intervention – MICCAI 2006[electronic resource] 9th International Conference, Copenhagen, Denmark, October 1-6, 2006, Proceedings, Part II /edited by Rasmus Larsen, Mads Nielsen, Jon Sporring1st ed. 2006.Berlin, Heidelberg :Springer Berlin Heidelberg :Imprint: Springer,2006.1 online resource (XXXVIII, 981 p.) The conference has become the premier international conference with - depth full length papers in the multidisciplinary ?elds of medical image c- puting, computer-assisted intervention, and medical robotics. The conference brings together clinicians, computer scientists, engineers, physicists, and other researchers and o?ers a forum for the exchange of ideas in a multidisciplinary setting. MICCAI papers are of high standard and have a long lifetime. In this v- ume as well as in the latest journal issues of Medical Image Analysis and IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging papers cite previous MICCAIs including the ?rst MICCAI conference in Cambridge, Massachusetts, 1998. It is obvious that the community requires the MICCAI papers as archive material. Therefore the proceedingsofMICCAIarefrom2005andhenceforthbeing indexedbyMedline. Acarefulreviewandselectionprocesswasexecutedinordertosecurethebest possible program for the MICCAI 2006 conference. We received 578 scienti?c papers from which 39 papers were selected for the oral program and 193 papers for the poster program.Image Processing, Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition, and Graphics ;4191Optical data processingPattern recognitionComputer graphicsArtificial intelligenceRadiologyHealth informaticsImage Processing and Computer Visionhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I22021Pattern Recognitionhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I2203XComputer Graphicshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I22013Artificial Intelligencehttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I21000Imaging / Radiologyhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/H29005Health Informaticshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/H28009Optical data processing.Pattern recognition.Computer graphics.Artificial intelligence.Radiology.Health informatics.Image Processing and Computer Vision.Pattern Recognition.Computer Graphics.Artificial Intelligence.Imaging / Radiology.Health Informatics.006.6006.37Larsen Rasmusedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtNielsen Madsedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtSporring Jonedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtBOOK9910483486603321Medical Image Computing and Computer-Assisted Intervention – MICCAI 2006772056UNINA01525nam 2200373 450 991070581660332120170911140326.0(CKB)5470000002454255(OCoLC)1000155993(EXLCZ)99547000000245425520170809d2013 ua 0engurmn|||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierA roadmap for collaborative and effective evaluation in tribal communities /Child Welfare Research & Evaluation Tribal Workgroup[Washington, D.C.] :Children's Bureau, Administration for Children and Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services,2013.1 online resource (57 pages) color illustrations"September 2013"--Acknowledgments.Includes bibliographical references (page 57).Indians of North AmericaSocial conditionsEvaluationIndian childrenNorth AmericaSocial conditionsEvaluationChild welfareUnited StatesEvaluationIndians of North AmericaSocial conditionsEvaluation.Indian childrenSocial conditionsEvaluation.Child welfareEvaluation.United States.Children's Bureau,GPOGPOBOOK9910705816603321A roadmap for collaborative and effective evaluation in tribal communities3515731UNINA
