The Internet, Dartnell argues, is affecting extensive changes to the way politics are carried out, by inserting a range of non-state actors onto the global political stage. He demonstrates that Web activism raises issues about the organization of societies and the distribution of power and contends that the development of online activism has far-reaching social and political implications, with parallels to the influence of the invention of the printing press, the telegraph, and the radio.Dartnell concentrates on Web activists who use the Net as a media tool, distinguishing this use from information terrorism, which threatens or harasses through 'hacking' or electronic sabotage. Using the examples of the Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan (RAWA), which opposed the Taliban, the Peruvian Movimento Revolucionario Tupac Amaru (MRTA) and its campaign against the Fujimori government, and the Irish Republican Socialist Movement (IRSM), Dartnell evaluates the political implications and general character of Web activism among non-state actors. Insurgency Online shows that online activism is a ripe, new territory for non-governmental actors to raise awareness and develop support around the world.Digital futures.InternetPolitical aspectsInternetSocial aspectsWorld Wide WebPolitical aspectsWorld Wide WebSocial aspectsSubversive activitiesPolitical activistsElectronic books.InternetPolitical aspects.InternetSocial aspects.World Wide WebPolitical aspects.World Wide WebSocial aspects.Subversive activities.Political activists.303.48/4Dartnell Michael Y(Michael York),988294MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910459668903321Insurgency online2259961UNINA00968nam a2200241 a 4500991004020579707536030225s1990 it 001 0 ita 0391-8471b11899396-39ule_instDip.to Scienze Storiche Fil. e Geogr.ita271 Lambertini, Roberto153128Apologia e crescita dell'identità francescana, 1255-1279 /Roberto LambertiniRoma :nella sede dell'Istituto,1990196 p. ;26 cm.Nuovi studi storici / Istituto storico italiano per il Medioevo ;4Francescani1255-1279.b1189939628-04-1725-02-03991004020579707536LE009 MSM V COLL.45A/412009000078680le009-E0.00-no 01010.i1216202425-02-03Apologia e crescita dell'identità francescana660727UNISALENTOle00925-02-03ma -itait 0100855nam0-22003131i-450 99000471261040332120241118110001.00091265118000471261FED01000471261(Aleph)000471261FED0100047126119990530d1976----km-y0itay50------baengGBy-------001yy<<An >>introduction to greek ethicsChristopher RoweLondonHutchinson1976141 p.22 cmEticaGrecia antica170.93821itaRowe,Christopher170219ITUNINARICAUNIMARCBK990004712610403321180 ROWC 001Ist.Fil.Cl.8914FLFBCFLFBCIntroduction to greek ethics557332UNINA
