He completed the work in March 1546 as fresh negotiations between Catholic and Protestant theologians reached an impasse in Regensburg, as the second session of the Council of Trent was meeting, and as Charles V prepared to make war on the Protestant League of Schmalkalden. At one level the work deals with the church's authority to regulate the celebration of the Lord's Supper, but at a more fundamental level it challenges moderate Catholics such as the humanist scholar Bartholomaeus Latomus to decide whether their ultimate loyalties lie with pope and council or with Christ and his Gospel.Studies in medieval and Reformation traditions ;Volume 184.Lord's SupperEarly works to 1800Lord's SupperHistory of doctrines16th centuryChurch history16th centurySourcesElectronic books.Lord's SupperLord's SupperHistory of doctrinesChurch history264/.36Bucer Martin1491-1551,206141Thompson NicholasMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910458625603321Martin Bucer, De vera et falsa caenae dominicae administratione (1546)2444246UNINA02440nam 22005534a 450 991078208880332120230207225602.00-8214-4205-8(CKB)1000000000521664(OCoLC)560253950(CaPaEBR)ebrary10156432(SSID)ssj0000279710(PQKBManifestationID)11210786(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000279710(PQKBWorkID)10261338(PQKB)10748432(MiAaPQ)EBC3026926(Au-PeEL)EBL3026926(CaPaEBR)ebr10156432(EXLCZ)99100000000052166420060421d2006 ub 0engurcn|||||||||txtccrFrom submarines to suburbs[electronic resource] selling a better America, 1939-1959 /Cynthia Lee HenthornAthens, Ohio Ohio University Pressc20061 online resource (384 p.)
