Driven by his stated intent to "make human rights substantial," Farmer has treated patients-and worked to address the root causes of their disease-in Haiti, Boston, Peru, Rwanda, and elsewhere in the developing world. In 1987, with several colleagues, he founded Partners In Health to provide a preferential option for the poor in health care. Throughout his career, Farmer has written eloquently and extensively on these efforts. Partner to the Poor collects his writings from 1988 to 2009 on anthropology, epidemiology, health care for the global poor, and international public health policy, providing a broad overview of his work. It illuminates the depth and impact of Farmer's contributions and demonstrates how, over time, this unassuming and dedicated doctor has fundamentally changed the way we think about health, international aid, and social justice. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to Partners In Health.California Series in Public AnthropologyPoorMedical careMedical anthropologySocial medicineEpidemiologyPublic healthElectronic books.PoorMedical careMedical anthropologySocial medicineEpidemiologyPublic health362.1086942Farmer Paulauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut532107Saussy Haunedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtDE-B1597DE-B1597BOOK9910458289803321Partner to the Poor2454583UNINA01591nam 2200373Ia 450 99638689380331620200824132755.0(CKB)4940000000077933(EEBO)2264215341(OCoLC)ocm12593892e(OCoLC)12593892(EXLCZ)99494000000007793319850924d1648 uy |engurbn||||a|bb|The pulpit incendiary, or, The divinity and devotion of Mr. Calamy, Mr. Case, Mr. Cauton, Mr. Cranford, and other Sion-Colledge preachers in their morning-exercises[electronic resource] with the keen and angry application thereof unto Parliament and army : together with a true vindication of the covenant from the false glosses put upon it ..[London] Printed by Matthew Simmons1648[2], 62 pAttributed to John Price.
