Humanprojekt (Series)AnthropologyEthicsElectronic books.Anthropology.Ethics.174.9309Heilinger Jan-Christoph910169MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910455975803321Anthropologie und Ethik des Enhancements2456739UNINA04355nam 2200805 a 450 991077905150332120230802004733.01-84769-611-21-280-12090-897866135247681-84769-610-410.21832/9781847696106(CKB)2550000000089268(EBL)922849(SSID)ssj0000648602(PQKBManifestationID)11435085(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000648602(PQKBWorkID)10600539(PQKB)10665344(MiAaPQ)EBC922849(DE-B1597)513548(OCoLC)777558489(DE-B1597)9781847696106(Au-PeEL)EBL922849(CaPaEBR)ebr10532046(CaONFJC)MIL352476(OCoLC)863821384(EXLCZ)99255000000008926820111130d2012 uy 0engur|n|---|||||txtccrContext, individual differences and pragmatic competence[electronic resource] /Naoko TaguchiBristol ;Buffalo Multilingual Mattersc20121 online resource (316 p.)Second language acquisition ;[62]Description based upon print version of record.1-84769-608-2 1-84769-609-0 Includes bibliographical references and index.Frontmatter -- Contents -- Preface -- 1. The ability to use language in a socially appropriate manner is critical, as lack of it may lead to cross-cultural miscommunication or cultural stereotyping. This book describes second language learners’ development of pragmatic competence. It proposes an original theoretical framework combining a pragmatics and psycholinguistics approach, and uses a variety of research instruments, both quantitative and qualitative, to describe pragmatic development over one year. Situated in a bilingual university in Japan, the study reveals patterns of change across different pragmatic abilities among Japanese learners of English. The book offers implications for SLA theories, the teaching and assessment of pragmatic competence, and intercultural communication.Second language acquisition (Clevedon, England) ;62.English languageStudy and teachingJapanPragmaticsCommunicative competenceJapanese learners of English.SLA.Second Language Acquisition.intercultural communication.language use and social contexts.learn English and pragmatics.pragmatic competence.pragmatics.psycholinguistics.second language learners’ development of pragmatic competence.English languageStudy and teachingPragmatics.Communicative competence.428.0071/052Taguchi Naoko1967-1529255MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910779051503321Context, individual differences and pragmatic competence3808946UNINA03058nam 2200673 a 450 991046407200332120241120175039.01-283-06024-8978661306024290-474-2021-790-04-13996-610.1163/ej.9789004139961.i-286(CKB)3190000000000613(EBL)682338(OCoLC)719383452(SSID)ssj0000470270(PQKBManifestationID)11272247(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000470270(PQKBWorkID)10413086(PQKB)10395130(OCoLC)144527639(nllekb)BRILL9789047420217(Au-PeEL)EBL682338(CaPaEBR)ebr10461292(CaONFJC)MIL306024(MiAaPQ)EBC682338(oapen)https://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/77826(PPN)174544545(EXLCZ)99319000000000061320070621d2007 uy 0engur|n|---|||||txtccr'Incidental' ethnographers French Catholic missions on the Tonkin-Yunnan frontier, 1880-1930 /by Jean Michaud1st ed.Leiden, Netherland ;Boston, Mass. Missionary authors and their texts. This book, connecting the fields of social anthropology and missiology, presents a body of colonial ethnographic writing applied to highland societies in the southern portion of the Mainland Southeast Asian massif. The writers under scrutiny are Catholic priests from the Société des Missions Étrangères de Paris. Their texts from the Upper-Tonkin vicariate, in today's northern Vietnam, are paid special attention, notably through its major contributor, F.M. Savina. The author locates this ethnographic heritage against its historical, political and intellectual background. A comparison is conducted with French missionaries-cum-ethnographers who worked among the 'natives' in New France (Canada) in the 17th century, yielding the unexpected conclusion that practically nothing from this early period of experimentation was remembered.Studies in Christian mission ;v. 33.Missions, FrenchVietnamEthnologyVietnam, NorthernHistoryMissions, FrenchEthnology.266/.2597Michaud Jean1957-939865MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910464072003321Incidental' ethnographers2119050UNINA
