Following the authoras earlier book on the history of containment of Iran and Iraq, the current book examines closely the Obama Administrationas policy toward Iran, as well as the role played by Israel, the European Union and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in the implementation of this policy. - - Specifically, it is argued that the policy of thtough diplomacy,oe designed mostly by those associated with the Israeli lobby groups, was intended to give an ultimatum to Iran in some direct meetings, telling Iran to either accept the US-Israeli demands or face aggression. The meetings were also intended to create the illusion of engaging Iran in order to gain international support for aggressive actions. Barack Obama announced this policy in his speeches as a Senator, particularly at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee policy conferences. After he became president in 2008, the policy of thaggressive diplomacyoe was put in motion. While pretending to engage Iran in diplomacy, the Obama Administration, in coordination with the US Congress and the government of Israel, pushed for the most confrontational IAEA reports on Iran and an unprecedented set of unilateral and multilateral sanctions. The US and Israel also engaged in a campaign of military threats, sabotage and assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists. Yet, after four years of hostilities, the policy of thtough diplomacyoe failed to achieve many of its goals and failed to contain Iran. - - -DiplomacyUnited StatesForeign relationsIranIranForeign relationsUnited StatesUnited StatesForeign relations administrationElectronic books.Diplomacy.327.73055Fayazmanesh Sasan240754MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910453752903321Containing Iran2073022UNINA01082nam a2200265 i 450099100153339970753620020502182450.0970207s1984 it ||| | ita b10863485-39ule_instLE02370992ExLDip.to Studi Storiciita361.94508Fabi, Lucio152607La carità dei ricchi :povertà e assistenza nella Trieste laica e asburgica del XIX secolo /Lucio FabiMilano :Franco Angeli,1984383 p. ;22 cm.Studi e ricerche storicheAssistenza socialeFriuli Venezia GiuliaSec.19..b1086348523-02-1728-06-02991001533399707536LE023 362 FAB 1 1 12023000012086le023-E0.00-l- 01010.i1097296128-06-02LE009 STOR.81-10012009000396432le009-E0.00-l- 00000.i1303513701-12-03Carità dei ricchi486662UNISALENTOle023le00901-01-97ma -itait 3202046nam 2200445 a 450 991070119020332120111024152832.0(CKB)5470000002415142(OCoLC)758384583(EXLCZ)99547000000241514220111024d2011 ua 0engurbn|||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierDefense[electronic resource] research and development : memorandum of understanding between the United States of America and Other Governments; signed at London, Rome, Bonn, Washington, and Paris, March 12, 13, 15, and May 7, 2007 with annex[Washington, D.C.] :U.S. Dept. of State,[2011?]1 online resource (60 unnumbered pages)Treaties and other international acts series ;07-507Memorandum of understanding between the United States of America and Other Governments; signed at London, Rome, Bonn, Washington, and Paris, March 12, 13, 15, and May 7, 2007 with annexAeronautics, MilitaryLaw and legislationUnited StatesAeronautics, MilitaryLaw and legislationFranceAeronautics, MilitaryLaw and legislationGermanyAeronautics, MilitaryLaw and legislationItalyAeronautics, MilitaryLaw and legislationGreat BritainAeronautics, MilitaryResearchInternational cooperationAeronautics, MilitaryLaw and legislationAeronautics, MilitaryLaw and legislationAeronautics, MilitaryLaw and legislationAeronautics, MilitaryLaw and legislationAeronautics, MilitaryLaw and legislationAeronautics, MilitaryResearchInternational cooperation.United States.Department of State.GPOGPOBOOK9910701190203321Defense2306666UNINA
