Its examination compares the proverbs’ grammar, structure, style, theme and usage within the collections. This multi-leveled comparison results in the indentification of a great number of similarities and differences that are interpreted in cultural terms, that is, through their association with the cultural context of production and usage of the proverbs. Hence this study offers an original insight into the literary production in Ancient Egypt and Greece, comparing the manner Egyptian and Greek authors conveyed timeless wisdom and reconsidering the status of cultural contact between these two ancient Mediterranean civilizations.Mnemosyne, bibliotheca classica Batava.Supplementum ;287.Proverbs, EgyptianHistory and criticismProverbs, GreekHistory and criticismElectronic books.Proverbs, EgyptianHistory and criticism.Proverbs, GreekHistory and criticism.398.962Lazaridis Nikolaos1977-599857MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910453352703321Wisdom in loose form1021812UNINA04186nam 2200661 a 450 991097037790332120251116231551.01-281-86595-897866118659551-84816-134-4(CKB)1000000000537733(EBL)1681354(OCoLC)815741819(WSP)0000P273(Au-PeEL)EBL1681354(CaPaEBR)ebr10255815(CaONFJC)MIL186595(MiAaPQ)EBC1681354(EXLCZ)99100000000053773320030911d2003 uy 0engur|n|---|||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierCandid science III more conversations with famous chemists /Istvan Hargittai ; edited by Magdolna Hargittai1st ed.London Imperial College Press ;River Edge, NJ Distributed by World Scientific Pub.
