Overview of Openness Indicators -- Appendix 3. Overview of Migrant Rights Indicators -- References -- IndexMany low-income countries and development organizations are calling for greater liberalization of labor immigration policies in high-income countries. At the same time, human rights organizations and migrant rights advocates demand more equal rights for migrant workers. The Price of Rights shows why you cannot always have both. Examining labor immigration policies in over forty countries, as well as policy drivers in major migrant-receiving and migrant-sending states, Martin Ruhs finds that there are trade-offs in the policies of high-income countries between openness to admitting migrant workers and some of the rights granted to migrants after admission. Insisting on greater equality of rights for migrant workers can come at the price of more restrictive admission policies, especially for lower-skilled workers. Ruhs advocates the liberalization of international labor migration through temporary migration programs that protect a universal set of core rights and account for the interests of nation-states by restricting a few specific rights that create net costs for receiving countries. The Price of Rights analyzes how high-income countries restrict the rights of migrant workers as part of their labor immigration policies and discusses the implications for global debates about regulating labor migration and protecting migrants. It comprehensively looks at the tensions between human rights and citizenship rights, the agency and interests of migrants and states, and the determinants and ethics of labor immigration policy.Foreign workersCivil rightsForeign workersLegal status, laws, etcLabor laws and legislationHuman rightsEmigration and immigrationEconomic aspectsEmigration and immigrationGovernment policyEmigration and immigration lawElectronic books.Foreign workersCivil rights.Foreign workersLegal status, laws, etc.Labor laws and legislation.Human rights.Emigration and immigrationEconomic aspects.Emigration and immigrationGovernment policy.Emigration and immigration law.331.6/2Ruhs Martin1043510MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910453085003321The price of rights2468531UNINA04808nam 2200673 450 991046351540332120200903223051.090-04-28246-710.1163/9789004282469(CKB)2670000000571183(EBL)1815766(SSID)ssj0001416024(PQKBManifestationID)11782752(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001416024(PQKBWorkID)11352767(PQKB)10126690(MiAaPQ)EBC1815766(nllekb)BRILL9789004282469(Au-PeEL)EBL1815766(CaPaEBR)ebr10953630(CaONFJC)MIL651271(OCoLC)893333636(EXLCZ)99267000000057118320141020h20152015 uy 0engur|n|---|||||txtccrSynopsis purioris theologiae = Synopsis of a purer theologyVolume 1Disputations 1-23 /volume edititor, Dolf te Velde ; translator, Riemer A. Composed by four professors of Leiden University (Johannes Polyander, Andreas Rivetus, Antonius Walaeus, and Anthonius Thysius) , it gives an exhaustive yet concise presentation of Reformed theology as it was conceived in the first decades of the seventeenth century. From a decidedly Reformed perspective, the Christian doctrine is defined in contrast with alternative or opposite views (Catholic, Spiritualist, Arminian, Socinian). Both on the academic level and on the ecclesiastical level, the Synopsis responds to challenges coming from the immediate context of the early seventeenth century. The disputations of this first volume cover topics such as Scripture, doctrine of God, Trinity, creation, sin, Law and Gospel. Volume One was published in 2014, Volume Two came out in 2016. Volume Three, the final volume, is expected late 2019.Studies in medieval and Reformation traditions.Texts & sources ;Volume 5.Studies in medieval and Reformation traditions ;Volume 187.Theology, DoctrinalEarly works to 1800Electronic books.Theology, Doctrinal230/.42Velde Roelf T. teFaber Riemer A.Ferwerda R(Rein),Asselt Willem J. van(Willem Jan van),1946-Boer William denMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910463515403321Synopsis purioris theologiae = Synopsis of a purer theology2130216UNINA
