He asserts that individual liberty is the most powerful, reliable, and true standpoint from which to clarify and secure conservatism?but that individual freedom alone cannot produce happiness. The author shows that, to fully grasp conservatism's merits, we must we also understand the substance of responsibility, toleration, and other virtues.Hoover Institution Press publication ;617.LibertyConservatismUnited StatesUnited StatesPolitics and governmentPhilosophyElectronic books.Liberty.Conservatism320.520973Blitz Mark775487MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910453375003321Conserving liberty2444683UNINA02061nam 2200613 a 450 991045302490332120200520144314.01-61761-451-3(CKB)2550000001042180(EBL)3019581(SSID)ssj0000852965(PQKBManifestationID)11516602(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000852965(PQKBWorkID)10853686(PQKB)11411757(MiAaPQ)EBC3019581(Au-PeEL)EBL3019581(CaPaEBR)ebr10671146(OCoLC)847626120(EXLCZ)99255000000104218020091215d2010 uy 0engur|n|---|||||txtccrBinary aqueous and CO[subscript 2] containing mixtures and the Krichevskii parameter[electronic resource] /Aziz I. It starts with two chapters on mathematical methods that are often used in the analysis of randomized search heuristics, followed by three chapters on how to measure the complexity of a search heuristic: black-box complexity, a counterpart of classical complexity theory in black-box optimization; parameterized complexity, aimed at a more fine-grained view of the difficulty of problems; and the fixed-budget perspective, which answers the question of how good a solution will be after investing a certain computational budget. The book then describes theoretical results on three important questions in evolutionary computation: how to profit from changing the parameters during the run of an algorithm; how evolutionary algorithms cope with dynamically changing or stochastic environments; and how population diversity influences performance. Finally, the book looks at three algorithm classes that have only recently become the focus of theoretical work: estimation-of-distribution algorithms; artificial immune systems; and genetic programming. Throughout the book the contributing authors try to develop an understanding for how these methods work, and why they are so successful in many applications. The book will be useful for students and researchers in theoretical computer science and evolutionary computing.Natural Computing Series,1619-7127ComputersArtificial intelligenceMathematical optimizationOperations researchDecision makingTheory of Computationhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I16005Artificial Intelligencehttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I21000Optimizationhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/M26008Operations Research/Decision Theoryhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/521000Computers.Artificial intelligence.Mathematical optimization.Operations research.Decision making.Theory of Computation.Artificial Intelligence.Optimization.Operations Research/Decision Theory.004.0151Doerr Benjaminedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtNeumann Frankedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK996465444203316Theory of Evolutionary Computation2129712UNISA01412nam 2200469 450 991079257220332120230808201120.088-921-6355-8(CKB)3710000000986695(MiAaPQ)EBC4771225(Au-PeEL)EBL4771225(CaPaEBR)ebr11318856(OCoLC)967538454(EXLCZ)99371000000098669520170106h20162016 uy 0itaurcnu||||||||rdacontentrdamediardacarrierL'analisi dell'innovazione nei servizi professionali /Andrea TomoTurin, Italy :G.
