This book surveys the pertinent evidence and assesses what it reveals regarding the role of the Nazirite within Judaism of the late Second Temple and early Christian era. The survey is arranged according to three primary sections: “Direct Evidence for Nazirites”; “Possible and Tangential Evidence for Nazirites”; and a final section, “Making Sense of the Evidence.” It concludes by arguing that the role of the Nazirite portrayed in sources was that of a religious devotee, and concomitant with biblical law, Nazirite devotion typically involved flexibility, personal freedom of expression, and adaptation to outside cultural norms. Those interested in the Nazirite vow as portrayed in the New Testament and other relevant sources will find this study useful, as will those interested in Bible translation and interpretation in late Second Temple and early rabbinic literature.Arbeiten zur Geschichte des antiken Judentums und des Urchristentums ;Bd. 60.Nazarite (Judaism)JudaismHistoryPost-exilic period, 586 B.C.-210 A.DVows in rabbinical literatureRabbinical literatureHistory and criticismVows in the BibleElectronic books.Nazarite (Judaism)JudaismHistoryVows in rabbinical literature.Rabbinical literatureHistory and criticism.Vows in the Bible.296.4/9Chepey Stuart Douglas1970-1029061MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910451445103321Nazirites in late Second Temple Judaism2445303UNINA01251nam0 22003011i 450 VAN000956620061013120000.088-13-19081-620021115d1995 |0itac50 baitaIT|||| |||||Imputabilità e trattamento del malato di mente autore di reatoa cura di Giacomo Canepa, Maria Ida MarugoPadovaCedam1995XIV, 264 p.24 cm.001VAN00077822001 Atti e documentiIstituto superiore internazionale di scienze criminali210 PadovaCEDAM1986-.10PsicopaticiImputabilitàVANC002012FIPadovaVANL000007364.3821CanepaGiacomoVANV003122MarugoMaria IdaVANV003367CEDAM <editore>VANV111515650ITSOL20230616RICABIBLIOTECA DEL DIPARTIMENTO DI GIURISPRUDENZAIT-CE0105VAN00VAN0009566BIBLIOTECA DEL DIPARTIMENTO DI GIURISPRUDENZA00CONS II.E.26 00 12715 20021115 Imputabilità e trattamento del malato di mente autore di reato626073UNICAMPANIA
