Leading scholars from North America, Europe, South Africa, and Australia explore the plurality and heterogeneity of traditions and practices that are characteristic of Buddhism in the West. This recent, dramatic growth in Western Buddhism is accompanied by an expansion of topics and issues of Buddhist concern. The contributors to this volume treat such topics as the broadening spirit of egalitarianism; the increasing emphasis on the psychological, as opposed to the purely religious, nature of practice; scandals within Buddhist movements; the erosion of the distinction between professional and lay Buddhists; Buddhist settlement in Israel; the history of Buddhism in internment camps; repackaging Zen for the West; and women's dharma in the West. The interconnections of historical and theoretical approaches in the volume make it a rich, multi-layered resource.BuddhismMissionsHistoryBuddhismHistory20th centuryGlobalizationReligious aspectsBuddhismElectronic books.BuddhismMissionsHistory.BuddhismHistoryGlobalizationReligious aspectsBuddhism.294.3/09Prebish Charles S920253Baumann Martin1960-234335MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910450147403321Westward dharma2419559UNINA04463nam 22007215 450 991065949190332120251008153433.0981-19-9365-310.1007/978-981-19-9365-7(MiAaPQ)EBC7195812(Au-PeEL)EBL7195812(CKB)26130545400041(DE-He213)978-981-19-9365-7(EXLCZ)992613054540004120230211d2023 u| 0engurcnu||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierChallenges in Fiscal and Monetary Policies in Mongolia /edited by Hiroyuki Taguchi, Takeshi Osada, Osamu Ito, Koki Hirota1st ed. 2023.Singapore :Springer Nature Singapore :Imprint: Springer,2023.1 online resource (255 pages)New Frontiers in Regional Science: Asian Perspectives,2199-5982 ;66Print version: Taguchi, Hiroyuki Challenges in Fiscal and Monetary Policies in Mongolia Singapore : Springer,c2023 9789811993640 Includes bibliographical references.Chapter 1 Analysis of the "Dutch Disease" Effect and Public Financial Management in Mongolian Economy -- Chapter 2 Enhancement in Governance Capacity of the Sovereign Wealth Funds of Mongolia -- Chapter 3 Government Financial Supports for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Mongolia -- Chapter 4 Macroprudential Policy to Manage Systemic Risk Deriving from Financial Institutions in Mongolia -- Chapter 5 Inflation Targeting and the Pass-through Effect in Mongolia -- Chapter 6 Stock Market Development and Macroeconomic Policies in Mongolia -- Chapter 7 The Development Stage of Bond Market in Mongolia among Asian countries. This book provides quantitative evidence on the issues in fiscal and monetary policies in Mongolia and presents necessary policy recommendations for policymakers and academic circles. Mongolia belongs to a natural resource-based, transition economy and thus has faced the risk of the so-called resource curse—including the “Dutch Disease” and immaturity in market-based systems, particularly in financial markets. Consequently, reformations of resource allocation and policy governance in fiscal and monetary fields have been required. So far, however, there have been only a very limited number of quantitative studies in the Mongolian economy among the vast literature of Asian studies. This book applies scientific approaches to address fiscal and monetary issues, such as data-oriented and econometric methods (a structural vector auto-regression model, a spatial econometric model, and panel estimation with fixed effects, among others). In this manner, the book enriches empirical evidence in academic literature and also contributes to evidence-based policymaking. All the authors are young leaders of government officials in the Ministry of Finance, Financial Regulatory Commission, and National Statistics Office in Mongolia, who have been trained in academic research methodologies at Saitama University, Japan, on JICA-JDS scholarships. Thus, academic researchers and policymakers will be prominent members of the target audience for this work. .New Frontiers in Regional Science: Asian Perspectives,2199-5982 ;66Finance, PublicEconomic policyMicroeconomicsFinanceCapital marketEconomic historyPublic FinanceEconomic PolicyMarket Structure and Economic DesignFinancial EconomicsCapital MarketsEconomy-wide Country StudiesFinance, Public.Economic policy.Microeconomics.Finance.Capital market.Economic history.Public Finance.Economic Policy.Market Structure and Economic Design.Financial Economics.Capital Markets.Economy-wide Country Studies.339.52Taguchi HiroyukiMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910659491903321Challenges in Fiscal and Monetary Policies in Mongolia3030789UNINA
