Mitigating Bias and Improving Professional Decision-Making through Persuasive Training Games --IndexThe rapid developments of new communication technologies have facilitated the popularization of digital games, which has translated into an exponential growth of the game industry in the last decades. The ubiquitous presence of digital games has resulted in an expansion of the applications of these games from mere entertainment purposes to a great variety of serious purposes. In this edited volume, we narrow the scope of attention by focusing on what game theorist Ian Bogost has called "persuasive games", that is, gaming practices that combine the dissemination of information with attempts to engage players in particular attitudes and behaviors. This volume offers a multifaceted reflection on persuasive gaming, that is, on the process of these particular games being played by players. The purpose is to better understand when and how digital games can be used for persuasion, by further exploring persuasive games and some other kinds of persuasive playful interaction as well. The book critically integrates what has been accomplished in separate research traditions to offer a multidisciplinary approach to understanding persuasive gaming that is closely linked to developments in the industry by including the exploration of relevant case studies.Games and play (Amsterdam, Netherlands).VideojocsAspectes psicològicslemacPersuasió (Psicologia)lemacGame, play, persuasion, game design, serious games.VideojocsAspectes psicològicsPersuasió (Psicologia)Raessens Joost1960-edthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtSchouten Benedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtJansz Jeroen1958-edthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtHera Teresa de laedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtAhn Sun Jooctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbBessarabova Elenactbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbBogost Ianctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbBurgoon Judeectbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbDeen Mennoctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbDunbar Norah E(Norah Ellen),ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbElizondo Javierctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbFerri Gabrielectbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbFlanagan Maryctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbGrace Lindsay D.ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbHera Teresa de lactbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbJacobs Ruud1938-2019,ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbJansz Jeroen1958-ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbJensen Matthewctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbKaufman Geoffctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbKetel Casctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbKors Martijnctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbLee Yu-Haoctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbMiller Claude H.ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbMuijres Elinectbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbRaessens Joost1960-ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbSchouten Benctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbSeidman Maxctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbSicart Miguelctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbSoliz Jordanctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbSpek Erik van der1954-ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbValacich Joseph S.1959-ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbWertley Chad Michaelctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbWichmand Mettectbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbWilson Scottctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbDE-B1597DE-B1597BOOK9910445548003321Persuasive Gaming in Context1981667UNINA
