Okot Bitek draws on her own family's experience of displacement under the regime of Idi Amin, pulling in fragments of the poetic traditions she encounters along the way: the Ugandan Acholi oral tradition of her father--the poet Okot p'Bitek; Anglican hymns; the rhythms and sounds of slave songs from the Americas; and the beat of spoken word and hip-hop. 100 Days is a collection of poetry that will stop you in your tracks.Robert Kroetsch SeriesGenocideRwandaPoetryRefugeesPoetryRwandafastPoetry/Rwanda/Genocide.GenocideRefugees811/.54Okot Bitek Juliane1966-1679748MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910817152003321100 days4048225UNINA03219nam 2200589Ia 450 991043783370332120200520144314.01-283-84912-71-4614-5082-910.1007/978-1-4614-5082-5(CKB)3390000000031578(EBL)1030360(OCoLC)820359331(SSID)ssj0000810625(PQKBManifestationID)11439150(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000810625(PQKBWorkID)10833009(PQKB)11314377(DE-He213)978-1-4614-5082-5(MiAaPQ)EBC1030360(PPN)168301997(EXLCZ)99339000000003157820120924h20132013 uy 0engur|n|---|||||txtccrChronobiology and obesity /Marta Garaulet, Jose M. Perhaps this is the reason why in the medical practice the circadian variability of hormones, metabolites, physiological behaviors or the relevance of time in the presence or absence of different pathologies, have been practically ignored in the past. Some studies have suggested that the disruption of the circadian system may be cause for obesity and manifestations of Metabolic Syndrome (MetS). Shift-work, sleep-deprivation and bright-light-exposure at night are related to increased adiposity (obesity) and prevalence of MetS. Chronobiology and Obesity examines recent advances that have led to researchers to find the relevant link which exists between chronobiology and obesity, but, as it is emphasized throughout the book, there is much more that needs to be explored between the connection.ObesityPhysiological aspectsChronobiologyBiological rhythmsObesityPhysiological aspects.Chronobiology.Biological rhythms.616.3/980651Garaulet Marta1965-1063336Ordovas J.
