Plants are still a source in nature to obtain and isolate molecules with pharmacological applications (drug discovery), but can also be used as herbal medicinal products in traditional or complementary medicine. In addition, the WHO has launched a Traditional Medicine Strategy (2014-2023), including herbal medicines as medicinal therapies, with the aim to ensure the quality, safety, proper use, and effectiveness of traditional medicines, among other objectives. This is a reprint of articles from the Special Issue on "Bioactivity of Medicinal Plants and Extracts" published online in the open access journal Biology. This reprint includes a collection of original research and review articles on new advances in the development and application of bioactive compounds and extracts from plant matrices.ChemistryStudy and teachingBiomedical engineeringChemistryStudy and teaching.Biomedical engineering.540.71Les Francisco1369479Cásedas GuillermoLópez VíctorNjHacINjHaclBOOK9910674015303321Bioactivity of Medicinal Plants and Extracts3395605UNINA03472nam 22006251a 450 991041834660332120250705110030.0978047212788704721278889780892640652089264065010.3998/mpub.19193(CKB)5590000000001716(OCoLC)1184508653(MdBmJHUP)muse92042(MiU)10.3998/mpub.19193(MiAaPQ)EBC6335118(MiAaPQ)EBC6533752EBL6533752(OCoLC)1291315090(AU-PeEL)EBL6533752(ODN)ODN0009703062(EXLCZ)99559000000000171619881209d1987 ub 0engurm|#||||nn|ntxtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierCitizens and groups in contemporary China /edited by Victor C. The first, a workshop on “The Pursuit of Interest in China,” was held in August 1977 at the University of Michigan, and was organized by Michel Oksenberg and Richard Baum. It was supported by a grant from the Joint Committee on Contemporary China of the Social Science Research Council and the American Council of Learned Societies, using funds provided by the Andrew Mellon Foundation. Its principal goal was to use detailed case studies to explore the relevance of interest group approaches to the study of Chinese politics. The second, a panel organized by the editor for the 1978 Chicago meeting of the Association of Asian Studies, sought to apply participatory approaches to the role of social groups in the Chinese political process. The striking degree of overlap in the focus, methodology, and participants in both meetings suggested to a number of the paper writers that there was a need for a more eclectic approach which would focus simultaneously on individual and group actors. The recognition that a volume based on such an approach might serve the needs of students and scholars seeking to examine the dynamics of informal influence and power in China was the stimulus for publishing the studies presented here in book form.Michigan monographs in Chinese studies ;no. 56.Pressure groupsChinaPolitical participationChinaChinaPolitics and government1949-Pressure groupsPolitical participation322.4/3/0951POL000000SOC000000SOC008000bisacshFalkenheim VictorFalkenheim Victor C.1940-1024169MiUMiUBOOK9910418346603321Citizens and Groups in Contemporary China2433875UNINA
