The book focuses on Arctic shipping and investigates how ocean change and anthropogenic impacts affect our understanding of risk, policy, management and regulation for safe navigation, environment protection, conflict management between ocean uses, and protection of Indigenous peoples’ interests. A rapidly changing Arctic as a result of climate change and ice loss is rendering the North more accessible, providing new opportunities while producing impacts on the Arctic. The book explores ideas for enhanced governance of Arctic shipping through risk-based planning, marine spatial planning and scaling up shipping standards for safety, environment protection and public health. .Springer Polar Sciences,2510-0475Polar regionsClimate changeEnvironmental managementAquatic ecology Polar Geographyhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/J16020Climate Change/Climate Change Impactshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/313000Water Policy/Water Governance/Water Managementhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/215000Environmental Managementhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/U17009Freshwater & Marine Ecologyhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/L19066Polar GeographyClimate Change/Climate Change ImpactsWater Policy/Water Governance/Water ManagementEnvironmental ManagementFreshwater & Marine EcologyPhysical GeographyEarth System SciencesWaterFreshwater and Marine EcologyArctic cruise shippingArctic fisher safetyClimate change impacts in the Arctic regionGovernance of the Arctic and Northwest AtlanticMarine spatial planningNorthwest Atlantic and Canadian Eastern Arctic GatewaySafe navigation and environment protectionSea ice in the ArcticSearch and Rescue (SAR)Open AccessPhysical geography & topographyClimate changeEnvironmental management,Ecological science, the BiosphereHydrobiologyPolar regions.Climate change.Environmental management.Aquatic ecology .Polar Geography.Climate Change/Climate Change Impacts.Water Policy/Water Governance/Water Management.Environmental Management.Freshwater & Marine Ecology.919.8Chircop Aldoedt1355888Chircop Aldoedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtGoerlandt Florisedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtAporta Claudioedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtPelot Ronaldedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910416127803321Governance of Arctic Shipping3359982UNINA
