Some scholars have edited a book about the US and Soviet sport diplomacy and show ow the government of these two countries have used sport during this period, notably as a tool of "soft power" during the Olympic games. Our goal is to continue in this direction and to focus more on the sport field as a place of exchanges during the Cold War. Regarding this point, our aim is to show that there were events "beyond boycotts"many and that unknown connections existed inside sport. Morevoer, many actors were involved in these exchanges. Thus, it is important not only to focus on the action of States, but also on private actors (international sporting bodies and journalists), considering that they acted around sport (an "apolitic" field) as it was tool to maintain links between the two blocs. Our project offers a good opportunity for young scholars to present original research based on new materials (notably the use of institutional or personals archives). Morevoer, it is also a step forward with a view to conduct research within a global history paradigm, one that is still underused in sport academic fields.SportsEuropeHistory20th centuryElectronic books.SportsHistory796.094Vonnard PhilippeSbetti NicolaQuin GrégoryMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910467424803321Beyond boycotts2474602UNINA02353nam 22006254a 450 991078507070332120240104112212.00-19-773207-01-61344-947-X1-280-53461-30-19-803975-11-4237-8511-8(CKB)1000000000411651(EBL)271039(SSID)ssj0000108245(PQKBManifestationID)11141632(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000108245(PQKBWorkID)10036091(PQKB)10830979(Au-PeEL)EBL271039(CaPaEBR)ebr10142438(CaONFJC)MIL53461(OCoLC)936849479(MiAaPQ)EBC271039(EXLCZ)99100000000041165120041216d2006 uy 0engur|n|---|||||txtccrAxiomatic design and fabrication of composite structures[electronic resource] applications in robots, machine tools and automobiles /Dai Gil Lee, Nam Pyo SuhNew York Oxford University Pressc20061 online resource (724 p.)Oxford series on advanced manufacturingDescription based upon print version of record.0-19-517877-7 Includes bibliographical references and index.Contents; Part I: Basics; Part II: Applications; Glossary; IndexPresents an integrated approach to the design and manufacturing of products made of advanced composites. Since its beginnings, a key goal of the DDays LAC has been to promote cross-fertilization of ideas from different areas within nonlinear dynamics. On this occasion, the contributions range from experimental to theoretical research, including (but not limited to) chaos, control theory, synchronization, statistical physics, stochastic processes, complex systems and networks, nonlinear time-series analysis, computational methods, fluid dynamics, nonlinear waves, pattern formation, population dynamics, ecological modeling, neural dynamics, and systems biology. The interested reader will find this book to be a useful reference in identifying ground-breaking problems in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, and Interdisciplinary Sciences, with innovative models and methods that provide insightful solutions. This book is a must-read for anyone looking for new developments of Applied Mathematics and Physics in connection with complex systems, synchronization, neural dynamics, fluid dynamics, ecological networks, and epidemics.self-organizationtemporal aliasing effectpoint scattererrecurrence timecalcium signalstheta neuronsynchronyneural networkreaction frontscyclic dynamicsannular billiardconvectionlocal field potentialcomplex systemsDicke modelcoupled oscillatorsdiffusive instabilitiesSlater’s theoremstochastic processesnonlinear dynamicscomputational methodswavesecological methodssampling ratesout of equilibrium systempredator–prey systemIP3Rs dsitributionbirthday problemmean field modelspopulation dynamicspuffsdelay bifurcationepidemic modelssuppression of synchronizationpopulation biologyLyapunov exponentMarkov processessynchronizationMartí Arturo C1287696Rubido NicolásScCtBLLScCtBLLBOOK9910367759203321Dynamics Days Latin America and the Caribbean 20183020309UNINA
