Application of Factor Analysis in Psychological Data. This book, specifically developed for students of psychology, covers a wide range of topics in statistics and research designs taught in psychology, in particular, and other disciplines like management, sociology, education, home science, and nutrition, in general, in most universities. It explains how to use Excel to analyze research data by elaborating statistical concepts. Each chapter contains sections like “Check you Computing skill” and “Check your Statistical Concepts” to enable students to assess their knowledge in a graded manner. The book addresses one of the major challenges in psychology research, viz., how to measure subjective phenomenon like attitude, desire, and preferences of an individual. Separate emphasis has been given to the measurement techniques which are essential tools to assess these subjective parameters in numerical form, required for statistical analysis to draw meaningful conclusions. The book is equally helpful to students of humanities, life sciences and other applied areas. Consisting of 14 chapters, the book covers all relevant topics of statistics and research designs which are important for students to plan and complete their research work.Social sciencesStatistical methodsSociologyMethodologyStatisticsPsychologyMethodologyStatistics in Social Sciences, Humanities, Law, Education, Behavorial Sciences, Public PolicySociological MethodsStatistical Theory and MethodsPsychological MethodsSocial sciencesStatistical methods.SociologyMethodology.Statistics.PsychologyMethodology.Statistics in Social Sciences, Humanities, Law, Education, Behavorial Sciences, Public Policy.Sociological Methods.Statistical Theory and Methods.Psychological Methods.150.72Verma J.Pauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut1058573MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910350242303321Statistics and Research Methods in Psychology with Excel2500661UNINA02506nam 22005173a 450 991034685150332120250203235430.09783038974826303897482X10.3390/books978-3-03897-482-6(CKB)4920000000095152(oapen)https://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/43385(ScCtBLL)8856e00c-4cc5-4f3a-947d-bebf229996ba(OCoLC)1163832184(oapen)doab43385(EXLCZ)99492000000009515220250203i20182019 uu engurmn|---annantxtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierClimate Change, Coasts and Coastal RiskRoshanka Ranasinghe, Ruben JongejanMDPI - Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute2019Basel, Switzerland :MDPI,2018.1 electronic resource (298 p.)9783038974819 3038974811 The combination of coastal climate change impacts and their effects on the ever-increasing human utilization of the coastal zone will invariably result in increasing coastal risk in the coming decades. However, while economic damage (potential consequence) caused by climate change-driven coastal inundation and erosion (potential hazard) is likely to increase, foregoing land-use opportunities in coastal regions and protecting or nourishing coasts is also costly. Managing the risk of coastline recession is therefore a balancing act. To avoid unacceptable future risks, it is imperative that risk-informed and sustainable coastal planning/management strategies are implemented sooner rather than later. This requires the development of methods for comprehensive coastal risk assessments which combine state-of-the-art consequence (or damage) modeling and coastal hazard modeling. This Special Issue contains 13 papers aimed at addressing this challenge.Environmental economicsbicsscCoastal floodingClimate changeCoastBeachCoastal erosionEstuaryCoastal RiskEnvironmental economicsRanasinghe Roshanka1787398Jongejan RubenScCtBLLScCtBLLBOOK9910346851503321Climate Change, Coasts and Coastal Risk4320817UNINA
