The authors of this book revisit that assumption. While recognizing that significant changes are occurring, these authors also point out the limitations of turning to contemporary democratic theory to understand and unpack these shifts. They propose, instead, to reframe this debate by deploying the analytic framework of affective societies, which highlights how affect and emotion are present in all aspects of the social. What changes over time and place are the modes and calibrations of affective and emotional registers. With this line of thinking, the authors are able to gesture towards a new outline of the political.EmotionsKulturen / EmotionCultures Bens et al., The Politics of Affective SocietiesAn Interdisciplinary EssayPoliticsAffectEmotionCultureCultural TheoryEthnologyCultural AnthropologyCultural StudiesPoliticsAffectEmotionCultureCultural TheoryEthnologyCultural AnthropologyCultural Studies300.1MB 3200rvkBens Jonas
Jonas Bens, Freie Universität Berlin, Deutschland
aut918781Diefenbach Aletta
Aletta Diefenbach, Freie Universität Berlin, Deutschland
autJohn Thomas
Thomas John, Freie Universität Berlin, Deutschland
autKahl Antje
Antje Kahl, Freie Universität Berlin, Deutschland
autLehmann Hauke
Hauke Lehmann, Freie Universität Berlin, Deutschland
autLüthjohann Matthias
Matthias Lüthjohann, Freie Universität Berlin, Deutschland
autOberkrome Friederike
Friederike Oberkrome, Freie Universität Berlin, Deutschland
autRoth Hans
Hans Roth, Freie Universität Berlin, Deutschland
autScheidecker Gabriel
Gabriel Scheidecker, Freie Universität Berlin, Deutschland
autThonhauser Gerhard
Gerhard Thonhauser, Technische Universität Darmstadt, Deutschland
autUral Nur Yasemin
Nur Yasemin Ural, Freie Universität Berlin, Deutschland
autWahba Dina
Dina Wahba, Freie Universität Berlin, Deutschland
autWalter-Jochum Robert
Robert Walter-Jochum, Freie Universität Berlin, Deutschland
autZik M.
