WU Vienna University of Business and Economics hosted BAYSM 2014 from September 18th to 19th. The guidance of renowned plenary lecturers and senior discussants is a critical part of the meeting and this volume, which follows publication of contributions from BAYSM 2013. The meeting's scientific program reflected the variety of fields in which Bayesian methods are currently employed or could be introduced in the future. Three brilliant keynote lectures by Chris Holmes (University of Oxford), Christian Robert (Université Paris-Dauphine), and Mike West (Duke University), were complemented by 24 plenary talks covering the major topics Dynamic Models, Applications, Bayesian Nonparametrics, Biostatistics, Bayesian Methods in Economics, and Models and Methods, as well as a lively poster session with 30 contributions. Selected contributions have been drawn from the conference for this book. All contributions in this volume are peer-reviewed and share original research in Bayesian computation, application, and theory.Springer Proceedings in Mathematics & Statistics,2194-1017 ;126StatisticsStatisticsMathematical statisticsData processingStatistical Theory and MethodsStatistics in Business, Management, Economics, Finance, InsuranceStatistics and ComputingStatistics.Statistics.Mathematical statisticsData processing.Statistical Theory and Methods.Statistics in Business, Management, Economics, Finance, Insurance.Statistics and Computing.519.542Frühwirth-Schnatter Sylviaedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtBitto Angelaedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtKastner Gregoredthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtPosekany Alexandraedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910299782403321Bayesian statistics from methods to models and applications1522591UNINA03261nam 2200781Ia 450 991097476920332120251116191006.0978661053836297812805383601280538368978074862718907486271899780748627189(CKB)1000000000351164(EBL)267208(OCoLC)184639710(SSID)ssj0000225947(PQKBManifestationID)12077759(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000225947(PQKBWorkID)10233404(PQKB)10031350(SSID)ssj0000306684(PQKBManifestationID)11274907(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000306684(PQKBWorkID)10299081(PQKB)10373688(Au-PeEL)EBL267208(CaPaEBR)ebr10131993(CaONFJC)MIL53836(OCoLC)71000521(DE-B1597)614506(DE-B1597)9780748627189(OCoLC)1306540875(MiAaPQ)EBC267208(Perlego)1708766(EXLCZ)99100000000035116420060823d2006 uy 0engur|n|---|||||txtccrPractical research methods for media and cultural studies making people count /Maire Messenger Davies and Nick Mosdell1st ed.Edinburgh Edinburgh University Pressc20061 online resource (209 p.)Description based upon print version of record.9780748621859 0748621857 9780748621842 0748621849 Includes bibliography and index.COVER; Contents; Acknowledgements; CHAPTER 1 Introduction; CHAPTER 2 What is Your Research Question?; CHAPTER 3 Choosing a Method; CHAPTER 4 Sampling; CHAPTER 5 The Practicalities; CHAPTER 6 Instrument Design: The Questionnaire; CHAPTER 7 Content Analysis; CHAPTER 8 Piloting; CHAPTER 9 Special Audiences – Work with Children; CHAPTER 10 Data Analysis; CHAPTER 11 Presenting Results; CHAPTER 12 Information for Teachers; CHAPTER 13 Conclusion and Summary; Bibliography and References; APPENDICES; 1.
