It is an absolute must-read for any scholar, student and policy practitioner that is interested in clusters.' -Ron Boschma, Utrecht University, the Netherlands and Stavanger University, Norway When we talk about clusters, it's the fabulous destiny of Silicon Valley that first comes to mind - the place where entrepreneurs and policymakers alike flock. But do we really understand the complex mechanics of these clusters? What tools can economics and other related disciplines use to analyze their performance? When it comes to spending taxpayer money to support cluster development, do benefits actually exceed costs? This book provides a synthesis of cluster theory and presents methodologies to analyze their structure and performance. It also contains insights into how to renew regional innovation policy. The French edition of this volume was granted Best Book in Economics 2016 by The French Association of Economics (AFSE) Jérôme Vicente is Professor at Sciences-Po, head of the LEREPS and member of the executive board of the SMS (Structuring of Social Worlds) research unit, all at University of Toulouse, France. .Palgrave pivot.Economic developmentEconomic geographyIndustrial organizationEconomic policyEconomicsHistoryEconomic Development, Innovation and GrowthEconomic GeographyIndustrial OrganizationEconomic PolicyHistory of Economic Thought and MethodologyEconomic development.Economic geography.Industrial organization.Economic policy.EconomicsHistory.Economic Development, Innovation and Growth.Economic Geography.Industrial Organization.Economic Policy.History of Economic Thought and Methodology.338.87Vicente Jérômeauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut1062825BOOK9910299645203321Economics of Clusters2528672UNINA08094nam 22008295 450 991014389390332120251116234250.03-540-45705-410.1007/3-540-45705-4(CKB)1000000000211843(SSID)ssj0000322802(PQKBManifestationID)11245551(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000322802(PQKBWorkID)10289785(PQKB)11768049(DE-He213)978-3-540-45705-3(MiAaPQ)EBC3072547(PPN)155214144(EXLCZ)99100000000021184320121227d2002 u| 0engurnn|008mamaatxtccrE-Commerce and Web Technologies Third International Conference, EC-Web 2002, Aix-en-Provence, France, September 2-6, 2002, Proceedings /edited by Kurt Bauknecht, A Min Tjoa, Gerald Quirchmayr1st ed. 2002.Berlin, Heidelberg :Springer Berlin Heidelberg :Imprint: Springer,2002.1 online resource (XIV, 418 p.) This conference, first held in Greenwich, United Kingdom in 2000, is now in its third year and is very well established. As in the two previous years, it served as a forum bringing together researchers from academia and commercial developers from industry to discuss the current state of the art in E-commerce and web technology. Inspirations and new ideas emerged from intensive discussions during formal sessions and social events. Keynote addresses, research presentations, and discussions during the conference helped to further develop the exchange of ideas among the researchers, developers, and practitioners who attended. The conference attracted more than 100 submissions and each paper was reviewed by at least three program committee members. The program committee selected 40 papers for presentation and publication, a task which was not easy due to the high quality of the submitted papers. We would like to express our thanks to our colleagues who helped to put together the technical program: the program committee members and external reviewers for their timely and rigorous reviews of the papers, and the organizing committee for their help in the administrative work and support. We owe special thanks to Gabriela Wagner and Maria Schweikert for always being available when their helping hand was needed.Lecture Notes in Computer Science,0302-9743 ;2455Computer scienceComputer networksComputers and civilizationInformation storage and retrievalApplication softwareElectronic commercePopular Computer Sciencehttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/Q23000Computer Communication Networkshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I13022Computers and Societyhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I24040Information Storage and Retrievalhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I18032Information Systems Applications (incl.
