Four different types of compressors are examined in detail: a conventional multistage centrifugal compressor, integrally geared centrifugal compressor, supersonic shock wave compressor, and pump machines. The study demonstrates that the total compression power is closely related to the thermodynamic process and is not determined by compressor efficiency alone. Another problem addressed is that of CO2 pipeline transport from the compressor outlet site to a disposal site under heat transfer conditions. The book also features an analysis of simulations and models that are used to determine the maximum safe pipeline distance to subsequent booster stations as a function of inlet pressure, ambient temperature, thickness of the thermal insulation and ground-level heat flux conditions. This book focuses on compression as well as transportation processes with particular emphasis on the safety risks related to the transport of CO2. The most important problem in terms of environmental protection is ensuring precise and reliable hazard identification. As hazards can only be managed effectively if they are properly identified, problems involving the discharge and atmospheric dispersion of CO2 are also discussed.SpringerBriefs in Applied Sciences and Technology,2191-530XEnergy systemsEnvironmental economicsEnergy Systemshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/115000Energy Systemshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/115000Environmental Economicshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W48000Energy systems.Environmental economics.Energy Systems.Energy Systems.Environmental Economics.621.51Witkowski Andrzejauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut730204Rusin Andrzejauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/autMajkut Mirosławauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/autRulik Sebastianauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/autStolecka Katarzynaauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/autMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910299609003321Advances in Carbon Dioxide Compression and Pipeline Transportation Processes2143777UNINA02872nam 22005293 450 991016266500332120241207110030.097816169571931616957190(CKB)3710000001044402(MiAaPQ)EBC6041483(Au-PeEL)EBL6041483(OCoLC)1155951798(ODN)ODN0002914940(EXLCZ)99371000000104440220210901d2017 uy 0engurcnu||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierAugust Snow2017Gordonsville :Soho Press,2017.©2017.1 online resource (293 pages)An August Snow Novel ;v.11-61695-718-2 "Tough, smart, and struggling to stay afloat, August Snow is the embodiment of Detroit. The son of an African American father and a Mexican mother, August grew up in Detroit's Mexicantown and joined the Detroit police only to be drummed out of the force by a conspiracy of corrupt cops and politicians. But August fought back; he took on the city and got himself a $12 million wrongful dismissal settlement that left him low on friends. He has just returned to the house he grew up in after a year away and quickly learns he has many scores to settle. It's not long before he's summoned to the palatial Grosse Point Estates home of business magnate Eleanore Paget. Powerful and manipulative, Paget wants August to investigate the increasingly unusual happenings at her private wealth management bank. But detective work is no longer August's beat, and he declines. A day later, Paget is dead of an apparent suicide--which August isn't buying for a minute. What begins as an inquiry into Eleanore Paget's death soon drags August into a rat's nest of Detroit's most dangerous criminals, from corporate embezzlers to tattooed mercenaries. From the wealthy suburbs to the near-post-apocalyptic remains of the bankrupt city's factory districts, August Snow is a fast-paced tale of murder, greed, sex, economic cyber-terrorism, race and urban decay in modern Detroit"--Provided by publisher. An August Snow Novel Multiracial peopleMichiganDetroitFictionRace relationsFictionFICTION / African American / Mystery & DetectivebisacshMystery fiction.gsafdMultiracial peopleRace relationsFICTION / African American / Mystery & Detective.813.6FIC049050bisacshJones Stephen Mack1244825MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910162665003321August Snow2887548UNINA
