Through CONQUAS, the reader benefits from understanding how the Singapore government developed and implemented the first objective system for measuring what many building professionals have perceived to be elusive quality standards in the construction industry. The book presents both the theoretical concepts as well as the practical aspects to achieving strategic Project Quality Management that is anchored on the CSFs to building best practices. To realistically reflect the practical aspects and challenging issues faced by stakeholders in the construction industry, questionnaire surveys were conducted with building professionals to distinguish the importance level and extent of adoption of the 33 CSFs (identified from a comprehensive review of the extant literature) in influencing and affecting the achievement of high CONQUAS scores. These were further anchored by in-depth interviews with quality experts in the Singapore construction industry to provide a better understanding of issues relating to strategic Project Quality Management. Collectively, the empirical findings collated from the building professionals suggest that while the CSFs identified are known tenets of quality, these were still not being followed in their totality. A further case study was conducted through a formal set of in-depth interviews with the quality assurance team of a construction company who has direct involvement before, during and after their tremendous improvements in the CONQUAS scores attained. The strength of this book therefore represents a true account and reflections of real-life practices and experiences in the construction industry for contractors, quality managers and policy-makers to learn from. Although the context of this book relates to the Singapore experience, the lessons and recommendations are equally relevant and applicable to the global construction industry in both the developing and developed countries whose stakeholders (in both the public and private sectors) wish to understand how CONQUAS works, and how the CSFs identified can likewise be implemented for strategic Project Quality Management to building best practices. The book is therefore of interests to researchers, academia and practitioners in the construction industry as well as in other sectors of the economy (in Singapore and other countries) where learning points may be used for enhancing project quality management for buildings.Building—SuperintendenceConstruction industry—ManagementBuildingSuperintendenceProject managementBuildings—Design and constructionBuildingConstructionEngineering, ArchitecturalQuality controlReliabilityIndustrial safetyConstruction Managementhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/T23039Project Managementhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/515020Building Construction and Designhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/T23012Quality Control, Reliability, Safety and Riskhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/T22032Building—Superintendence.Construction industry—Management.BuildingSuperintendence.Project management.Buildings—Design and construction.Building.Construction.Engineering, Architectural.Quality control.Reliability.Industrial safety.Construction Management.Project Management.Building Construction and Design.Quality Control, Reliability, Safety and Risk.624658.4658.4/013658.4013Low Sui Phengauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut720652Ong Joyauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/autBOOK9910299466703321Project Quality Management1945040UNINA02501nam 22004933 450 991014902320332120241107093726.097815985354641598535463(CKB)3710000000924376(MiAaPQ)EBC6057479(Au-PeEL)EBL6057479(OCoLC)962854399(Exl-AI)6057479(ODN)ODN0003015236(EXLCZ)99371000000092437620210901d2016 uy 0engurcnu||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierThe Invisible Pyramid A Library of America EBook ClassicNew York Library of America2016 :Library of America,2016.©2016.1 online resource (141 pages)Title from eBook information screen..Cover -- Title -- Copyright -- Contents -- THE INVISIBLE PYRAMID -- Dedication -- Preface -- Poem -- Prologue -- The Star Dragon -- The Cosmic Prison -- The World Eaters -- The Spore Bearers -- The Time Effacers -- Man in the Autumn Light -- The Last Magician -- Bibliography -- Chronology -- Note on the Text -- Notes -- IndexGenerated by AI.Loren Eiseley's 'The Invisible Pyramid' explores the intersection of human history, cosmic events, and environmental concerns. Through a series of reflective essays, Eiseley contemplates humanity's place in the universe, drawing from themes of memory, dreams, and environmental challenges. The book is informed by lectures delivered in 1969 and reflects on the journey of Halley's Comet as a metaphor for humanity's own trajectory. Eiseley addresses the contradictions of human existence, balancing optimism and pessimism about the future. His work is aimed at readers interested in environmental science, history, and philosophy, encouraging reflection on mankind's capacity to create and destroy.Generated by AI.Philosophy of natureGenerated by AIEnvironmentalismGenerated by AIPhilosophy of natureEnvironmentalismSCI075000SCI080000SCI100000bisacshEiseley Loren288185Cronon William10674MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910149023203321The Invisible Pyramid1889789UNINA
