The work also gauges the impact of inclusion or exclusion of a proxy for non-traditional activities on the cost efficiency estimates for Indian banks, and ranking of distinct ownership groups. It also investigates the hitherto neglected aspect of the nature of returns-to-scale in the Indian banking industry. In addition, the work explores the key bank-specific factors that explain the inter-bank variations in efficiency and productivity growth. Overall, the empirical results of this work allow us to ascertain whether the gradualist approach to reforming the banking system in a developing economy like India has yielded the most significant policy goal of achieving efficiency and productivity gains. The authors believe that the findings of this book could give useful policy directions and suggestions to other developing economies that have embarked on a deregulation path or are contemplating doing so.India Studies in Business and Economics,2198-0012FinanceIndustrial organizationMacroeconomicsEconometricsFinance, generalhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/600000Industrial Organizationhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W31010Macroeconomics/Monetary Economics//Financial Economicshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W32000Econometricshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W29010Finance.Industrial organization.Macroeconomics.Econometrics.Finance, general.Industrial Organization.Macroeconomics/Monetary Economics//Financial Economics.Econometrics.330.015195Kumar Sunilauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut868762Gulati Rachitaauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/autBOOK9910298524003321Deregulation and Efficiency of Indian Banks2511292UNINA01497nam 22004333 450 991051056770332120211119080228.09783030777463(electronic bk.)9783030777456(MiAaPQ)EBC6805024(Au-PeEL)EBL6805024(CKB)19422166800041(OCoLC)1285778878(EXLCZ)991942216680004120211119d2021 uy 0engurcnu||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierPervasive Healthcare A Compendium of Critical Factors for SuccessCham :Springer International Publishing AG,2021.©2022.1 online resource (382 pages)EAI/Springer Innovations in Communication and Computing Ser.Print version: Husain, Mohammad Shahid Pervasive Healthcare Cham : Springer International Publishing AG,c2021 9783030777456 EAI/Springer Innovations in Communication and Computing Ser.Electronic books.Husain Mohammad Shahid1068564Adnan Muhamad Hariz Bin Muhamad1068565Khan Mohammad Zunnun1068566Shukla Saurabh1068567Khan Fahad U1068568MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQ9910510567703321Pervasive Healthcare2553512UNINA
