Conclusion -- Index. This book reviews the latest developments in our understanding of microbial endophytes and their potential applications in enhancing productivity and disease protection. It covers all the latest discoveries regarding endophytes, their interactions with plants and application in agricultural productivity and protection.  Our understanding of endophytes has increased exponentially in recent decades. These microbes, such as fungi, bacteria, and actinobacteria, establish a symbiotic or parasitic association with plants. A better understanding of endophytic microorganisms may help to elucidate their functions and potential role in developing sustainable systems of crop production and improved protection against biotic stresses. Endophytes play a vital role in plant growth and health promotion. Endophytic bacteria are of agrobiological interest because they create host-endophyte relationships, which can open exciting prospects for newer biotechnological applications. Endophytes have also proven to be a beneficial and sustainable alternative to agrochemicals due to their role in the biocontrol of pests and diseases. Further, endophytes are essential to the production of several secondary metabolites in grasses, in the process of gummosis in trees, and the production of useful metabolites such as alkaloids, pestaloside, cryptocandin, enfumafungin, subglutinols, etc. for the host plant. They are also involved in the production of enzymes, biosurfactants, biocontrol agents and plant growth promoters. As such, it is imperative that we explore these products’ industrial applications in the fields of biotechnology, pharmacy and agriculture. This volume will offers a valuable guidance for botanists, microbiologists, biotechnologists, molecular biologists, environmentalists, policymakers, conservationists, and those working for the protection of plant species of agricultural and medicinal importance.Sustainable Development and Biodiversity,2352-474X ;16EndophytesEndophytes.581.70913Maheshwari D. Beyond the visual arts."Forty years after the Cultural Revolution, Art in Turmoil revisits the visual and performing arts of the period - the paintings, propaganda posters, political cartoons, sculpture, folk arts, private sketchbooks, opera, and ballet. Probing deeply, it examines what these vibrant, militant, often gaudy images meant to artists, their patrons, and their audiences at the time, and what they mean now, both in their original forms and as revolutionary icons reworked for a new market-oriented age. Chapters by scholars of Chinese history and art and by artists whose careers were shaped by the Cultural Revolution decode the rhetoric of China's turbulent decade. The many illustrations in the book, some familiar and some never seen before, also offer new insights into works that have transcended their times."--BOOK JACKET.Contemporary Chinese studies.Arts, Chinese20th centuryArtistsChinaBiographyChinaHistoryCultural Revolution, 1966-1976Arts, ChineseArtists700.951/09046King Richard1951 February 5-1642211Croizier Ralph C645871Watson Scott1950-1642212Zheng Sheng Tian1938-1642213MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910821775703321Art in turmoil3986800UNINA04491nam 2200625 450 991082447040332120240214153749.01-118-62457-21-118-62454-81-118-62458-01-118-62459-9(CKB)4330000000006624(DLC) 2016025451(Au-PeEL)EBL4770927(CaPaEBR)ebr11321192(CaONFJC)MIL979309(OCoLC)951017935(MiAaPQ)EBC4770927(EXLCZ)99433000000000662420170106h20172017 uy 0engurcnu||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierA companion to Chinese history /edited by Michael SzonyiChichester, West Sussex, England :Wiley-Blackwell,2017.©20171 online resource (478 pages, map)Wiley Blackwell Companions to World History Series1-119-32201-4 1-118-62460-2 Includes bibliographical references and index.Notes on Contributors -- Acknowledgments -- Chapter One Introduction Conventions -- Part I States of the Field: Chapter Two How Do We Know What We Know about Chinese History? -- Chapter Three Chinese History in China: The State of the Field (1980s-2010s) -- Chapter Four Chinese History in Japan: The State of the Field -- Chapter Five Chinese History in Europe: The State of the Field -- Chapter Six Chinese History in the Era of the China Dream -- Chapter Seven Chinese History in World History -- Part II Chronologies: Chapter Eight Early China in Eurasian History -- Chapter Nine Was Medieval China Medieval? Cross-border spillover effects were noted across global economies. Balance sheet adjustments may eventually gnaw at the profit-earning capacities of central banks, and in extreme cases, negative equity can manifest. This study investigates a benchmark for comparing central banks. The author employs a unique and large set of metrics to gauge the quality of central banks and presents an argument to reflect upon international best practices. The study uses different criteria including the accounting body, research, presence of stress-testing exercises, inflation-targeting frameworks, staff efficiency, and languages of communication with the public, amongst others. The book begins by providing an overview of central banking, before exploring some stylized facts about central banks in unique detail. It then presents a ratings methodology for worldwide central banks to analyse the results. A backtesting exercise is included to validate the quality of the ratings obtained. The book concludes by offering insights into the comparison of central banks.Palgrave pivot.Banks and bankingAccountingBookkeeping Finance, PublicInternational economicsBankinghttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/626010Accounting/Auditinghttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/511000Public Financehttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/611000International Economicshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W33000Banks and banking.Accounting.Bookkeeping .Finance, Public.International economics.Banking.Accounting/Auditing.Public Finance.International Economics.332.1/1Ramlall Indranarainauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut885669MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910258355003321Central Bank Ratings2261662UNINA
