Such changes could yield a more sustainable and effective health care system with highly motivated physicians. To that end, the AMA asked RAND Health to characterize the factors that lead to physician satisfaction. RAND sought to identify high-priority determinants of professional satisfaction that can be targeted within a variety of practice types, especially as smaller and independent practices are purchased by or become affiliated with hospitals and larger delivery systems. Researchers gathered data from 30 physician practices in six states, using a combination of surveys and semistructured interviews. This report presents the results of the subsequent analysis, addressing such areas as physicians' perceptions of the quality of care, use of electronic health records, autonomy, practice leadership, and work quantity and pace. Among other things, the researchers found that physicians who perceived themselves or their practices as providing high-quality care reported better professional satisfaction. Physicians, especially those in primary care, were frustrated when demands for greater quantity of care limited the time they could spend with each patient, detracting from the quality of care in some cases. Electronic health records were a source of both promise and frustration, with major concerns about interoperability between systems and with the amount of physician time involved in data entry--Source other than Library of Congress.Research report (Rand Corporation)PhysiciansJob satisfactionUnited StatesPhysiciansUnited StatesAttitudesMedicinePracticeUnited StatesMedical careUnited StatesQuality controlPhysiciansJob satisfactionPhysiciansAttitudes.MedicinePracticeMedical careQuality control.610.69Friedberg Mark W.924634RAND Health,Rand Corporation,American Medical Association,MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910220153203321Factors affecting physician professional satisfaction and their implications for patient care, health systems, and health policy2075495UNINA02370oam 22007335 450 991069397870332120230828202737.01-280-00454-197866100045460-585-26128-810.1596/0-8213-4299-1(CKB)111004368646276(MH)007917667-4(SSID)ssj0000086406(PQKBManifestationID)12014812(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000086406(PQKBWorkID)10026354(PQKB)11335734(The World Bank)98045140(US-djbf)4035738(EXLCZ)9911100436864627619980917d1998 uf 0engurcn|||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierEast Asia : the road to recoveryWashington, DC :World Bank,1998.xvi, 138 pages illustrations ;28 cmBibliographic Level Mode of Issuance: Monograph0-8213-4299-1 Includes bibliographical references.World Bank e-Library.FinanceEast AsiaFinancial institutionsEast AsiaCurrency questionEast AsiaFinanceEast AsiaFinancial institutionsEast AsiaCurrency questionEast AsiaFinancial Management & PlanningHILCCFinanceHILCCBusiness & EconomicsHILCCEast AsiaEconomic policyFinanceFinancial institutionsCurrency questionFinanceFinancial institutionsCurrency questionFinancial Management & PlanningFinanceBusiness & Economics332/.095World BankWorld Bank.DLCDLCDLCBOOK9910693978703321East Asia1013036UNINAThis Record contains information from the Harvard Library Bibliographic Dataset, which is provided by the Harvard Library under its Bibliographic Dataset Use Terms and includes data made available by, among others the Library of Congress02564nam 22004934a 450 991087751410332120251116150728.00-471-42112-X0-470-31203-30-470-17255-X1-59124-748-9(CKB)1000000000000064(SSID)ssj0000072208(PQKBManifestationID)11107193(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000072208(PQKBWorkID)10093799(PQKB)10041611(MiAaPQ)EBC3056751(BIP)5676769(EXLCZ)99100000000000006420010920d2002 uy 0engurcn|||||||||txtccrHandbook of materials selection /edited by Myer KutzNew York J.
