Evaluation of NLP and Speech Tools for Italian Proceedings of the Final Workshop 7 December 2016, Naples /Pierpaolo Basile, Franco Cutugno, Malvina Nissim, Viviana Patti, Rachele SprugnoliTorino Accademia University Press20171 online resource (218 p.) EVALITA is the evaluation campaign of Natural Language Processing and Speech Tools for the Italian language: since 2007 shared tasks have been proposed covering the analysis of both written and spoken language with the aim of enhancing the development and dissemination of resources and technologies for Italian. EVALITA is an initiative of the Italian Association for Computational Linguistics (AILC, http://www.ai-lc.it/) and it is supported by the NLP Special Interest Group of the Italian Association for Artificial Intelligence (AI*IA, http://www.aixia.it/) and by the Italian Association of Speech Science (AISV, http://www.aisv.it/). In this volume, we collect the reports of the tasks’ organisers and of the participants to all of the EVALITA 2016’s tasks, which are the following: ArtiPhone - Articulatory Phone Recognition; FactA - Event Factuality Annotation; NEEL-IT - Named Entity rEcognition and Linking in Italian Tweets; PoSTWITA - POS tagging for Italian Social Media Texts; QA4FAQ - Question Answering for Frequently Asked Questions; SENTIPOLC - SENTIment POLarity Classification. Notice that the volume does not include reports related to the IBM Watson Services Challenge organised by IBM Italy, but information can be found at http://www.evalita.it/2016/tasks/ibm-challenge. Before the task and participant reports, we also include an overview to the campaign that describes the tasks in more detail, provides figures on the participants, and, especially, highlights the innovations introduced at this year’s edition. An additional report presents a reflection on the outcome of two questionnaires filled by past participants and organisers of EVALITA, and of the panel “Raising Interest and Collecting Suggestions on the EVALITA Evaluation Campaign” held at CLIC-it 2015.Linguisticslinguistica computazionalericonoscimento telefonico articolareannotazione fattualità degli eventientità chiamata rEcognition e collegamenti nei tweet italianietichettare per messaggi social mediaclassificazione polarità sentimentilinguistique computationellereconnaissance téléphonique articulatoireannotation de facturation de l'événemententité appelée rEcognition et liens dans le tweets italienétiqueter les messages des médias sociauxclassement polarité sentimentscomputational linguisticsarticulatory phone recognitionevent factuality annotationnamed entity rEcognition and linking in italian tweetstagging for italian social media textssentiment polarity classificationcomputational linguisticsnamed entity rEcognition and linking in italian tweetsarticulatory phone recognitionsentiment polarity classificationtagging for italian social media textsevent factuality annotationLinguisticslinguistica computazionalericonoscimento telefonico articolareannotazione fattualità degli eventientità chiamata rEcognition e collegamenti nei tweet italianietichettare per messaggi social mediaclassificazione polarità sentimentilinguistique computationellereconnaissance téléphonique articulatoireannotation de facturation de l'événemententité appelée rEcognition et liens dans le tweets italienétiqueter les messages des médias sociauxclassement polarité sentimentscomputational linguisticsarticulatory phone recognitionevent factuality annotationnamed entity rEcognition and linking in italian tweetstagging for italian social media textssentiment polarity classificationAlzetta Chiara1295640Attardi Giuseppe44215Badino Leonardo1320667Barbieri Francesco357180Basile Pierpaolo1281385Basile Valerio1281386Basili Roberto740180Bentham Jereemi1320668Bhardwaj Divyanshu1320669Bolioli Andrea1314241Bondielli Alessandro1286677Bosco Cristina1281391Buscaldi Davide1295171Caputo Annalina1281394Caselli Tommaso1281395Castellucci Giuseppe1281397Cecchini Flavio Massimiliano1281398Cieliebak Mark1320670Cimino Andrea1253054Corcoglioniti Francesco1320671Cosi Piero1025365Covella Vito Vincenzo1320672Cozza Vittoria1281400Croce Danilo1281401Cutugno Franco1320673Daelemans Walter1128932Dell’Orletta Felice1253055Deriu Jan1320674De Carolis Berardina1320675De Gemmis Marco1314255Di Noia Tommaso1320676Di Rosa Emanuele1295181Durante Alberto1295182Feltracco Anna1286707Ferilli Stefano724685Fersini Elisabetta1281415Fonseca Erick R1320677Frenda Simona1286711Gelbukh Alexander1063518Gentile Anna Lisa1320678Giuliano Claudio1320679Graff Mario1320680Hernandez-Farias Delia Irazù1320681Horsmann Tobias1281424La Bruna Wanda1320682Lenci Alessandro541745Lops Pasquale1065077Lovecchio Francesco1320683Magnini Bernardo1286726Magnolini Simone1295195Majumder Goutam1320684Manchanda Pikakshi1320685Manzari Vito464184Mazzei Alessandro1281431Messina Enza1320686Minard Anne-Lyse1281433Miranda-Jiménez Sabino1320687Moctezuma Daniela1320688Monachini Monica1281434Nechaev Yaroslav1295204Nissim Malvina1281438Novielli Nicole1281439Nozza Debora1295206Paci Giulio1320689Pakray Partha1320690Palmero Aprosio Alessio1314294Palmonari Matteo1320691Passaro Lucia C1281445Patti Viviana1281446Pipitone Arianna1320692Pirrone Roberto307374Plank Barbara1320693Qwaider Mohammed R. H1286742Redavid Domenico1320694Rizzo Giuseppe454414Russo Irene1281457Saha Saurav1320695Sartiano Daniele1281460Sas Cezar1320696Semplici Federica1320697Simi Maria1281463Speranza Manuela1281464Sprugnoli Rachele1281465Stemle Egon W1318145Sucameli Irene1286756Tamburini Fabio139532Tellez Eric S1320698Tirone Giuseppe552791Zesch Torsten1281474Basile Pierpaolo1281385Cutugno Franco1320673Nissim Malvina1281438Patti Viviana1281446Sprugnoli Rachele1281465FR-FrMaCLEBOOK9910214918703321EVALITA. The primary environmental effects induced by earthquakes as well as the secondary effects (sensu Environmental Seismic Intensity - ESI 2007 scale) must be considered for a more correct and complete evaluation of seismic hazards, at both regional and local scales. This Special Issue aims to collect all contributions that, using different methodologies, integrate new data produced with multi-disciplinary and innovative methods. These methodologies are essential for the identification and characterization of seismically active areas, and for the development of new hazard models, obtained using different survey techniques. The topic attracted a lot of interest, 19 peer-reviewed articles were collected; moreover, different areas of the world have been analyzed through these methodologies: Italy, USA, Spain, Australia, Ecuador, Guatemala, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Russia, China, Japan, and Nepal.Research & information: generalbicsscactive faultamalgamationArctic-Asian seismic beltattenuationAustralian earthquakescatalog incompletenesscoseismic landslidesCPOcrustal modelcyclic triaxial testsDICdigital elevation model (DEM)disasterearth observation (EO)earthquakeearthquake archaeological effects (EAEs)earthquake cataloguesearthquake environmental effectsearthquake environmental effects (EEEs)earthquake forecastingearthquake hazardearthquake hazardsearthquake mechanismearthquake-induced landslideEcuadorEEE databaseemergency shelterESI 2007 scaleESI scaleESI scale 2007ESI-07 scaleexpert estimatefault barrierfully probabilistic techniquegeographic information systems (GIS)geological controlgeoriskGMPEground effectsground-shaking mapGuatemalahistorical and recent earthquakesin situ testsintensity mapsIntraplate earthquakeintraplate regioninventory mapinversionKyrgyzstanlaboratory testslandslideLate Cenozoic deformationliquefactionmachine learningmacroseismic intensitymass movementsmaximum possible magnitudes of earthquakesmicrotremor H/V spectral ratioMMImodel selectionNewmark's methodone class classificationpaleoearthquakepaleoliquefactionpaleoseismogenic structurePedernales earthquakePohang earthquakepotential seismicityprobabilistic seismic hazardregional segmentreverse earthquakeriskSakhalin Islandseismic hazardseismic scenariosseismic zoningseismotectonic deformationshear-wave velocity structuresite amplificationsoil liquefactionSouth KoreaSpainspatial resolutionStructure-from-Motionsuitability analysissurface ruptureSuusamyr earthquakeTien ShanUlaanbaatarweighted coefficientResearch & information: generalPorfido Sabinaedt299986Alessio GiulianaedtGaudiosi GermanaedtNappi RosaedtPorfido SabinaothAlessio GiulianaothGaudiosi GermanaothNappi RosaothBOOK9910557694203321New Perspectives in the Definition3026815UNINA
