Prendendo spunto dal lavoro di ricerca realizzato in più di sedici anni di attività scientifica si è deciso di approfondire lo studio di tutte quelle figure, spesso minori o sconosciute, che hanno concorso alla concezione e alla realizzazione delle attività spettacolari patrocinate dai Gonzaga dal 1480 al 1630. Infatti, una delle più affascinanti peculiarità dello spettacolo rinascimentale è stata quella di riunire gli esperti più abili di arti diverse e, in un certo senso, di obbligarli a lavorare insieme per la realizzazione di un evento unico e irripetibile. Allo stesso modo abbiamo idealmente voluto riprodurre quel clima tra i relatori che sono stati chiamati a offrire il loro contributo, coinvolgendo esperti di vari ambiti di ricerca, dalle discipline dello spettacolo, alla musica, larte, larchitettura, la letteratura, la storia.
