The Finnish authorities regularly coordinate and collaborate with international bodies on macroprudential policy. Several macroprudential instruments were formally introduced in the legislation and activated recently. The 2014 Act on Credit Institutions implements macroprudential instruments, including those set out in the European Capital Requirement Directive. Despite the important progress made, there are some improvements that should be considered. The macroprudential policy toolkit should be expanded. The systemic risk buffer should be added to the toolkit, although its activation and level may still need further analysis.IMF Staff Country Reports; Country Report ;No. 2017/005Financial riskFinancial risk managementBanks and BankingimfFinance: GeneralimfMacroeconomicsimfIndustries: Financial ServicesimfFinancial Markets and the MacroeconomyimfGeneral Financial Markets: Government Policy and RegulationimfBanksimfDepository InstitutionsimfMicro Finance InstitutionsimfMortgagesimfFinanceimfBankingimfMacroprudential policyimfSystemic riskimfSystemic risk assessmentimfMacroprudential policy instrumentsimfFinancial sector policy and analysisimfLoansimfFinancial institutionsimfEconomic policyimfFinancial risk managementimfBanks and bankingimfFinlandimfFinancial risk.Financial risk management.Banks and BankingFinance: GeneralMacroeconomicsIndustries: Financial ServicesFinancial Markets and the MacroeconomyGeneral Financial Markets: Government Policy and RegulationBanksDepository InstitutionsMicro Finance InstitutionsMortgagesFinanceBankingMacroprudential policySystemic riskSystemic risk assessmentMacroprudential policy instrumentsFinancial sector policy and analysisLoansFinancial institutionsEconomic policyFinancial risk managementBanks and banking332.6DcWaIMFBOOK9910162924903321FINLAND520698UNINA
