Tanzania’s macroeconomic performance remains strong. Economic growth was robust during the first half of 2016. Inflation came down below the authorities’ target of 5 percent and is expected to remain close to the target, while the external current account deficit was revised down on account of lower imports of capital goods. Nevertheless, there are risks that could adversely affect economic growth going forward, emerging from the currently tight stance of macroeconomic policies, slow implementation of public investment, and private sector uncertainty about the government’s new economic strategies. The IMF staff recommends completion of the fifth review under the PSI.IMF Staff Country Reports; Country Report ;No. 2017/013Exports and ImportsimfPublic FinanceimfTaxationimfMoney and Monetary PolicyimfInternational Lending and Debt ProblemsimfNational Government Expenditures and Related Policies: GeneralimfDebtimfDebt ManagementimfSovereign DebtimfEmpirical Studies of TradeimfNational Government Expenditures and Related Policies: InfrastructuresimfOther Public Investment and Capital StockimfCurrent Account AdjustmentimfShort-term Capital MovementsimfInternational economicsimfPublic finance & taxationimfBudgeting & financial managementimfMonetary economicsimfExpenditureimfArrearsimfGovernment debt managementimfExternal debtimfTrade balanceimfPublic financial management (PFM)imfPublic investment and public-private partnerships (PPP)imfDebts, ExternalimfExpenditures, PublicimfDebts, PublicimfBalance of tradeimfPublic investmentsimfPublic-private sector cooperationimfTanzaniaEconomic conditionsTanzania, United Republic ofimfExports and ImportsPublic FinanceTaxationMoney and Monetary PolicyInternational Lending and Debt ProblemsNational Government Expenditures and Related Policies: GeneralDebtDebt ManagementSovereign DebtEmpirical Studies of TradeNational Government Expenditures and Related Policies: InfrastructuresOther Public Investment and Capital StockCurrent Account AdjustmentShort-term Capital MovementsInternational economicsPublic finance & taxationBudgeting & financial managementMonetary economicsExpenditureArrearsGovernment debt managementExternal debtTrade balancePublic financial management (PFM)Public investment and public-private partnerships (PPP)Debts, ExternalExpenditures, PublicDebts, PublicBalance of tradePublic investmentsPublic-private sector cooperation330.96782DcWaIMFBOOK9910162923203321United Republic of Tanzania3417573UNINA
