Here we combine an overview of various modelling approaches for collective behaviours displayed by individuals/cells/bacteria that interact locally and non-locally, with analytical and numerical mathematical techniques that can be used to investigate the spatio-temporal patterns produced by said individuals/cells/bacteria. Richly illustrated, the book offers a valuable guide for researchers new to the field, and is also suitable as a textbook for senior undergraduate or graduate students in mathematics or related disciplines.Mathematical Biosciences Subseries,2524-6771 ;2232BiomathematicsEcology Partial differential equationsNumerical analysisCommunity ecology, BioticMathematicsMathematical and Computational Biologyhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/M31000Theoretical Ecology/Statisticshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/L19147Partial Differential Equationshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/M12155Numerical Analysishttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/M14050Community & Population Ecologyhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/L19120Mathematics of Planet Earthhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/M36000Biomathematics.Ecology .Partial differential equations.Numerical analysis.Community ecology, Biotic.Mathematics.Mathematical and Computational Biology.Theoretical Ecology/Statistics.Partial Differential Equations.Numerical Analysis.Community & Population Ecology.Mathematics of Planet Earth.570.151Eftimie Ralucaauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut766108MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK996466665803316Hyperbolic and kinetic models for self-organised biological aggregations1558277UNISA02947oam 2200553I 450 991015497780332120230808200735.01-351-88132-91-315-23686-910.4324/9781315236865 (CKB)3710000000965986(MiAaPQ)EBC4758280(OCoLC)973034564(BIP)63368367(BIP)7533279(EXLCZ)99371000000096598620180706e20162003 uy 0engurcnu||||||||rdacontentrdamediardacarrierThe 'Templar of Tyre' part III of the 'Deeds of the Cypriots' /Paul CrawfordAbingdon, Oxon :Routledge,2016.1 online resource (214 pages)Crusade Texts in TranslationFirst published 2003 by Ashgate Publishing.1-84014-618-4 1-351-88133-7 Includes bibliographical references and index.chapter Introduction -- chapter The 'Templar ofTyre' (§§237-702 of the Gestes des Chiprois) -- chapter Glossary -- chapter Select Bibliography -- chapter 1ndex.The so-called 'Templar of Tyre' is the third and longest section of an important 14th-century chronicle known as the Gestes des Chiprois. Written by a Cypriot knight who served the Templar Master William of Beaujeu as an Arabic translator and a member of his immediate retinue, the 'Templar of Tyre' provides precious contemporary insights, often drawn from the author's personal experience, into events beginning in the early 1230s and ending in 1309 in the East and 1314 in the West. Notably, it covers the last days of the mainland Crusader states and the fall of Acre in 1291 (providing our only eyewitness chronicle of this disaster), as well as providing information on the period following 1291. The author also reports various events in the West, including the wars of the Hohenstaufen in Italy, the rise and fall of Simon de Montfort in England, the trial and dissolution of the Templars in France, and the interminable wars of Genoa and Venice across the Mediterranean. This is the first complete translation of the 'Templar of Tyre' into English.Crusade texts in translation.CrusadesFourth, 1202-1204HistorySourcesCrusades13th-15th centuriesHistorySourcesLatin OrientHistorySourcesAcre (Israel)HistorySiege, 1291SourcesCyprusHistorySourcesJerusalemHistoryLatin Kingdom, 1099-1244SourcesCrusadesHistoryCrusadesHistory940.1/84Crawford Paul1961-,905126FlBoTFGFlBoTFGBOOK9910154977803321The 'Templar of Tyre2024401UNINA
