Although good harvests boosted growth to close to 5 percent in 2015, external imbalances widened owing to low commodity export prices, expansionary policies, and insufficient exchange rate adjustment. The terms-of-trade shock widened the current account deficit to 6 percent of GDP in 2015. The budget deficit widened to 1.9 percent of GDP owing to shortfalls in oil revenue. Inflation, which had been contained to 12.6 percent at end-2015, rose to 16.5 percent in July 2016. The outlook is subject to significant downside risks.IMF Staff Country Reports; Country Report ;No. 2016/324Economic developmentSudanFiscal policySudanExports and ImportsimfFinancial Risk ManagementimfForeign ExchangeimfMoney and Monetary PolicyimfPublic FinanceimfMacroeconomicsimfInternational Lending and Debt ProblemsimfDebtimfDebt ManagementimfSovereign DebtimfTaxation, Subsidies, and Revenue: GeneralimfMonetary SystemsimfStandardsimfRegimesimfGovernment and the Monetary SystemimfPayment SystemsimfData Collection and Data Estimation MethodologyimfComputer Programs: OtherimfInternational economicsimfCurrencyimfForeign exchangeimfPublic finance & taxationimfFinanceimfMonetary economicsimfEconometrics & economic statisticsimfExternal debtimfPublic debtimfDebt reliefimfRevenue administrationimfAsset and liability managementimfDebts, ExternalimfDebts, PublicimfRevenueimfMoneyimfStatisticsimfSudanimfEconomic developmentFiscal policyExports and ImportsFinancial Risk ManagementForeign ExchangeMoney and Monetary PolicyPublic FinanceMacroeconomicsInternational Lending and Debt ProblemsDebtDebt ManagementSovereign DebtTaxation, Subsidies, and Revenue: GeneralMonetary SystemsStandardsRegimesGovernment and the Monetary SystemPayment SystemsData Collection and Data Estimation MethodologyComputer Programs: OtherInternational economicsCurrencyForeign exchangePublic finance & taxationFinanceMonetary economicsEconometrics & economic statisticsExternal debtPublic debtDebt reliefRevenue administrationAsset and liability managementDebts, ExternalDebts, PublicRevenueMoneyStatistics338.9DcWaIMFBOOK9910154886303321Sudan.496013UNINA
