A Post-Scientific Epilogue -- -- Part three: Unveiling Sacrifice:Most ideas of sacrifice, even specifically Christian ideas, as we saw in the Reformation controversies, have something to do with deprivation or destruction. But this is not authentic Christian sacrifice. Authentic Christian sacrifice, and ultimately all true sacrifice (whether one is conscious of it or not) begins with the self-offering of the Father in the gift-sending of the Son, continues with the loving "response" of the Son, in his humanity, and in the Spirit, to the Father and for us, and finally, begins to become real in our world when human beings, in the power of the same Spirit that was in Jesus, respond to love with love, and thus begin to enter into that perfectly loving, totally self-giving relationship that is the life of the triune God. The origins of this are in the Hebrew Bible, its revelatory high-points in Jesus and Paul, and its working out in the life of the Church, especially its Eucharistic Prayers. Special attention will be paid to the atonement, not just because atonement and sacrifice are often synonymous, but also because traditional atonement theology is the source of distortions that continue to plague Christian thinking about sacrifice. After exploring the possibility of finding a phenomenology of sacrificial atonement in Girardian mimetic theory, the book will end with some suggestions on how to communicate its findings to people likely to be put off from the outset by the negative connotations associated with "sacrifice"SacrificeChristianityHistory of doctrinesAtonementHistory of doctrinesSacrificeBiblical teachingTheologyElectronic books.SacrificeChristianityHistory of doctrines.AtonementHistory of doctrines.SacrificeBiblical teaching.232.4Daly Robert J.1933-1039683UtOrBLWUtOrBLWUkLoBPBOOK9910459114103321Sacrifice unveiled2462024UNINA04815nam 2200733 450 991014047840332120221206173330.01-119-00033-51-118-83761-41-119-00032-710.1002/9781119000334(CKB)2670000000588479(EBL)1895642(SSID)ssj0001401554(PQKBManifestationID)11836766(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001401554(PQKBWorkID)11349073(PQKB)10253553(PQKBManifestationID)16037351(PQKB)24317931(MiAaPQ)EBC1895642(DLC) 2014029108(CaBNVSL)mat07043962(IDAMS)0b0000648294b06c(IEEE)7043962(PPN)256465304(EXLCZ)99267000000058847920151222d2015 uy engur|n|---|||||txtccrCable networks, services and management /edited by Mehmet ToyHoboken, New Jersey :Wiley,[2015][Piscataqay, New Jersey] :IEEE Xplore,[2015]1 online resource (372 p.)IEEE Press series on networks and services management ;[13]Description based upon print version of record.1-322-52069-0 1-118-83759-2 Includes bibliographical references and index.Preface vii -- Contributors ix -- 1 INTRODUCTION AND OVERVIEW 1 -- 1.1 Introduction 1 -- 1.2 Residential Network Architectures and Services 2 -- 1.3 OAMPT (Operations, Administration, Maintenance, Provisioning, Troubleshooting) for Residential Services 4 -- 1.4 Business Network Architectures and Services 6 -- 1.5 OAMPT for Business Services 7 -- 1.6 Future Directions in Cable Networks, Services and Management 8 -- 2 RESIDENTIAL NETWORK ARCHITECTURES AND SERVICES 11 -- 2.1 Introduction 11 -- 2.2 DOCSIS 3.0/3.1 Architecture and Services 12 -- 2.3 PacketCable Architecture and Services 22 -- 2.4 Ims Architecture and Services 26 -- 2.5 Iptv Architecture and Services 34 -- 2.6 Cdn Architecture and Services 45 -- 2.7 Ccap Architectures and Services 53 -- 2.8 Wi-Fi Architecture and Services 69 -- 2.9 Conclusion 78 -- References 80 -- 3 OPERATIONS, ADMINISTRATION, MAINTENANCE, PROVISIONING, AND TROUBLESHOOTING FOR RESIDENTIAL SERVICES 84 -- 3.1 Introduction 84 -- 3.2 Operational Systems and Management Architectures 85 -- 3.3 Service Orders 89 -- 3.4 Provisioning 91 -- 3.5 Fault Management 92 -- 3.6 Performance Management 94 -- 3.7 Billing Systems and Formats 97 -- 3.8 Security 99 -- 3.9 Conclusion 131 -- References 132 -- 4 BUSINESS NETWORK ARCHITECTURES AND SERVICES 134 -- 4.1 Introduction 134 -- 4.2 Metro Ethernet Architecture and Services 135 -- 4.3 DPoE Architecture and Services 161 -- 4.4 EPoC Architecture and Services 168 -- 4.5 Business Voice 171 -- 4.6 Conclusion 180 -- References 181 -- 5 OPERATIONS, ADMINISTRATION, MAINTENANCE, PROVISIONING, AND TROUBLESHOOTING FOR BUSINESS SERVICES 183 -- 5.1 Introduction 183 -- 5.2 Operations Systems and Management Architectures 184 -- 5.3 Service Orders 196 -- 5.4 Provisioning 205 -- 5.5 Fault Management 224 -- 5.6 Performance Management 230 -- 5.7 Billing Systems and Formats 235 -- 5.8 Security 236 -- 5.9 Conclusion 241 -- References 243 -- 6 FUTURE DIRECTIONS IN CABLE NETWORKS, SERVICES AND MANAGEMENT 246 6.1 Introduction 246.6.2 Cloud Services 247 -- 6.3 Virtualization 274 -- 6.4 Network Functions Virtualization 295 -- 6.5 Software-Defined Networks 297 -- 6.6 Self-Managed Networks 318 -- 6.7 Conclusion 337 -- References 338 -- Index 341."This book will focus on residential and commercial services provided by MSOs (Multiple System Operators), the networks supporting these services, and management of networks and services.
