Bejarano. The conversos of late medieval and Golden Age Spain were Christians whose Jewish ancestors had been forced to change faiths within a society that developed a preoccupation with pure Christian lineage. The aims of this book is to shed new light on the cultural impact of this social climate, in which public suspicion of the religious sincerity of conversos became widespread and scrutiny by the Inquisition came to impede social advancement and threaten life and property. The bulk of the essays center on literary works, including lesser known and canonical pieces, which are analyzed by scholars who reveal the heterogeneous nature of textual voices that are informed by an awareness of the marginal status of conversos. Contributors are Gregory B. Kaplan, Ana Benito, Patricia Timmons, David Wacks, Bruce Rosenstock, Laura Delbrugge, Michelle Hamilton, Deborah Skolnik Rosenberg, Kevin Larsen and Luis Bejarano.Medieval and early modern Iberian world ;v. 46.Spanish literatureTo 1500History and criticismSpanish literatureJewish Christian authorsHistory and criticismChristian converts from JudaismSpainHistorySpainIntellectual life711-1516Spanish literatureHistory and criticism.Spanish literatureJewish Christian authorsHistory and criticism.Christian converts from JudaismHistory.860.9/001Aronson-Friedman Amy1697016Kaplan Gregory B.1966-1697017MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910816491703321Marginal voices4077408UNINA02959nam 2200637Ia 450 991013947070332120200520144314.01-282-45618-0978661245618392-4-068414-X(CKB)2550000000005660(EBL)476155(OCoLC)609852924(SSID)ssj0000358767(PQKBManifestationID)11305176(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000358767(PQKBWorkID)10382246(PQKB)10965637(MiAaPQ)EBC476155(Au-PeEL)EBL476155(CaPaEBR)ebr10363988(CaONFJC)MIL245618(EXLCZ)99255000000000566020100323d2009 uf 0engur|n|---|||||txtccrDengue guidelines for diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and controlNew ed.Geneva TDR World Health Organization20091 online resource (158 p.)"WHO/HTM/NTD/DEN/2009.1."A joint publication of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases (TDR).92-4-154787-1 Includes bibliographical references.Cover; Title page; Copyright; Contents; Preface; METHODOLOGY; ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS; ABBREVIATIONS; CHAPTER 1: Epidemiology, burden of disease and transmission; CHAPTER 2: Clinical management and delivery of clinical services; CHAPTER 3: Vector management and delivery of vector control services; CHAPTER 4: Laboratory diagnosis and diagnostic tests; CHAPTER 5: Surveillance, emergency preparedness and response; CHAPTER 6: New avenuesThis new edition has been produced to make widely available to health practitioners, laboratory personnel, those involved in vector control and other public health officials, a concise source of information of worldwide relevance on dengue.
