Four different types of compressors are examined in detail: a conventional multistage centrifugal compressor, integrally geared centrifugal compressor, supersonic shock wave compressor, and pump machines. The study demonstrates that the total compression power is closely related to the thermodynamic process and is not determined by compressor efficiency alone. Another problem addressed is that of CO2 pipeline transport from the compressor outlet site to a disposal site under heat transfer conditions. The book also features an analysis of simulations and models that are used to determine the maximum safe pipeline distance to subsequent booster stations as a function of inlet pressure, ambient temperature, thickness of the thermal insulation and ground-level heat flux conditions. This book focuses on compression as well as transportation processes with particular emphasis on the safety risks related to the transport of CO2. The most important problem in terms of environmental protection is ensuring precise and reliable hazard identification. As hazards can only be managed effectively if they are properly identified, problems involving the discharge and atmospheric dispersion of CO2 are also discussed.SpringerBriefs in Applied Sciences and Technology,2191-530XEnergy systemsEnvironmental economicsEnergy Systemshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/115000Energy Systemshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/115000Environmental Economicshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W48000Energy systems.Environmental economics.Energy Systems.Energy Systems.Environmental Economics.621.51Witkowski Andrzejauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut730204Rusin Andrzejauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/autMajkut Mirosławauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/autRulik Sebastianauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/autStolecka Katarzynaauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/autMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910299609003321Advances in Carbon Dioxide Compression and Pipeline Transportation Processes2143777UNINA01745nam 2200457z- 450 991013709420332120210212(CKB)3710000000824721(oapen)https://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/57776(oapen)doab57776(EXLCZ)99371000000082472120202102d2015 |y 0engurmn|---annantxtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierRecent Discoveries in Evolutionary and Genomic MicrobiologyFrontiers Media SA20151 online resource (99 p.)Frontiers Research Topics2-88919-617-8 This collection represents certain discoveries that were made in evolutionary and genomic microbiology during the recent ten years.
