The driving force behind these technologies is the rapidly growing requirements of edutainment, especially from the perspective of the users. This has led to the increasing interest of researchers in this area. The articles in this issue give a rich overview of how edutainment technologies can be creatively used for training and education purposes. The first 12 articles of this issue represent a selection of outstanding contributions from Edutainment 2010, the 5th International Conference on E-learning and Games, held in Changchun, China, in August 2010. The main purpose of this event is to faci- tate the discussion, presentation, and information exchange on the scientific and te- nological developments in the emerging field of digital entertainment techniques and systems for education. These 12 papers concentrated on three aspects: e-learning s- tem and applications, game techniques for learning, and virtual reality techniques for entertainment. They are closely related to the topics of this journal.Transactions on Edutainment,1867-7207 ;6250Educational technologyEducation—Data processingEducational Technologyhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/O21000Computers and Educationhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I24032Educational technology.Education—Data processing.Educational Technology.Computers and Education.371.33Zhang Xiaopengedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtEdutainment 2010(2010 :Changchun, China)BOOK996466298103316Transactions on Edutainment IV2831162UNISA02396nam 2200421 450 991013235230332120231021042647.01-4799-2322-2(CKB)3460000000126488(NjHacI)993460000000126488(EXLCZ)99346000000012648820231021d2013 uy 0engur|||||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierICVRV 2013 : 2013 International Conference on Virtual Reality and Visualization proceedings : 14-15 September 2013, Xi'an, Shaanxi, China /edited by Xiaopeng Zhang [and three others]Los Alamitos, California :IEEE,2013.1 online resource (xxii, 332 pages) illustrations1-5090-4463-9 0-7695-5150-5 Annotation The conference focuses on recent research and development in the fields of visualization, virtual environments, mixed reality, 3D user interface, etc Researchers and practitioners actively working in related areas will get together to discuss the recent research technology system developments and trends The scope covers VR, visualization, and other aspects of multimedia computing such as auditory and sensor based interactions The conference is also an important endeavor of the MGA board for inter society collaboration with CCF which is one of the cosponsors The organizers agree to 1 allocate a voting seat in its steering committee for IEEE CS TCMC, 2 sponsor a TCMC representative to attend its steering committee meeting and the conference and 3 provide benefits to IEEE members in China in the form of travel and or best paper award specific for IEEE members, in addition to regular IEEE member benefits such as discounted registration rates.2013 International Conference on Virtual Reality and VisualizationVirtual Reality and Visualization ICVRVVirtual realityCongressesImaging systemsCongressesVirtual realityImaging systems006.8Zhang XiaopengNjHacINjHaclPROCEEDING9910132352303321ICVRV 2013 : 2013 International Conference on Virtual Reality and Visualization3574600UNINA
