Examining Latin and English sources, Ghosh shows how the same debates over biblical hermeneutics and associated methodologies were from the 1380s onwards conducted both within and outside the traditional university framework, and how by eliding boundaries between Latinate biblical speculation and vernacular religiosity Lollardy changed the cultural and political positioning of both. Covering a wide range of texts - scholastic and extramural, in Latin and in English, written over half a century from Wyclif to Thomas Netter - Ghosh concludes that by the first decades of the fifteenth century Lollardy had partly won the day. Whatever its fate as a religious movement, it had successfully changed the intellectual landscape of England.Cambridge studies in medieval literature ;45.LollardsLollards.273/.6Ghosh Kantik1967-853457UkCbUPUkCbUPBOOK9910456255203321The Wycliffite heresy1905653UNINA03042oam 2200673I 450 991045290400332120200520144314.01-280-87373-697866137150431-136-25313-00-203-10525-71-136-25312-210.4324/9780203105252 (CKB)2550000000104771(EBL)981730(OCoLC)798209412(SSID)ssj0000692092(PQKBManifestationID)11396766(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000692092(PQKBWorkID)10637064(PQKB)11248951(MiAaPQ)EBC981730(Au-PeEL)EBL981730(CaPaEBR)ebr10578065(CaONFJC)MIL371504(OCoLC)801406018(EXLCZ)99255000000010477120180706d2012 uy 0engur|n|---|||||txtccrOrganizations, individualism and economic theory /Maria BrouwerAbingdon, Oxon :Routledge,2012.1 online resource (288 p.)Routledge frontiers of political economy Organizations, individualism, and economic theory Description based upon print version of record.0-415-69977-0 Includes bibliographical references and index.Cover; Organizations, Individualism and Economic Theory; Copyright; Contents; Tables; 1 Introduction; 2 Markets and organizations: Individualism and the theory of the firm; 3 Expectations and macro economic theory: The boundaries of rationality; 4 Corporate finance and the theoryof the firm; 5 Peter Drucker and the rise ofmanagement theory; 6 Spoils of war; 7 An institutional view ondemocracy and prosperity; 8 Organizations and innovation; References; IndexMost economic theory is based on the assumption that?economies grow in a linear fashion.
