Using state-of-the-art corpus linguistic methodology, the series aims to capture the diversity and variability of German grammar at a high resolution. At the same time, it aims to ensure the study results are verifiable. Issue by issue, the series will add "building blocks" for a new, consistently corpus-based grammar of German. In addition to the peer-reviewed texts, which are written in the style of grammar chapters, the series publishes the results of statistical analyses and, for selected topics, the underlying data sets.Bausteine einer Korpusgrammatik des DeutschenGrammarGrammar.813.6Konopka MarekWöllstein AngelikaFelder Ekkehard1964-NjHacINjHaclBOOK9910774735503321Bausteine einer Korpusgrammatik des Deutschen3661194UNINA04692nam 22008055 450 991029986410332120230810194910.09783319973432331997343610.1007/978-3-319-97343-2(CKB)4100000007108268(MiAaPQ)EBC5558177(DE-He213)978-3-319-97343-2(Au-PeEL)EBL5558177(OCoLC)1059414485(PPN)231460333(Perlego)3485897(EXLCZ)99410000000710826820181015d2018 u| 0engurcnu||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierIgnorance, Power and Harm Agnotology and The Criminological Imagination /edited by Alana Barton, Howard Davis1st ed. 2018.Cham :Springer International Publishing :Imprint: Palgrave Macmillan,2018.1 online resource (243 pages) illustrationsCritical Criminological Perspectives,2731-06129783319973425 3319973428 Chapter 1. Agnotology - the study of the cultural production of ignorance, has primarily been proposed as an analytical tool in the fields of science and medicine. However, this book argues that it has significant resonance for criminology and the social sciences given that ignorance is a crucial means through which public acceptance of serious and sometimes mass harms is achieved. The editors argue that this phenomenon requires a systematic inquiry into ignorance as an area of criminological study in its own right. Through case studies on topics such as migrant detention, historical institutionalised child abuse, imprisonment, environmental harm and financial collapse, this book examines the construction of ignorance, and the power dynamics that facilitate and shape that construction in a range of different contexts. Furthermore, this book addresses the relationship between ignorance and the achievement of 'manufactured consent' to political and cultural hegemony, acquiescence in its harmful consequences and the deflection of responsibility for them. .Critical Criminological Perspectives,2731-0612Critical criminologyCrimeSociological aspectsCorrectionsPunishmentTransnational crimeWhite collar crimesPolitical sociologyCritical CriminologyCrime and SocietyPrison and PunishmentTransnational CrimeWhite Collar CrimePolitical SociologyCritical criminology.CrimeSociological aspects.Corrections.Punishment.Transnational crime.White collar crimes.Political sociology.Critical Criminology.Crime and Society.Prison and Punishment.Transnational Crime.White Collar Crime.Political Sociology.001.094209031Barton Alanaedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtDavis Howardedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910299864103321Ignorance, Power and Harm2039143UNINA
