The Post apocalypse Outbreak --Conclusion --Acknowledgments --Notes --IndexOutbreak narratives have proliferated for the past quarter century, and now they have reached epidemic proportions. From 28 Days Later to 24 to The Walking Dead, movies, TV shows, and books are filled with zombie viruses, bioengineered plagues, and disease-ravaged bands of survivors. Even news reports indulge in thrilling scenarios about potential global pandemics like SARS and Ebola. Why have outbreak narratives infected our public discourse, and how have they affected the way Americans view the world? In Going Viral, Dahlia Schweitzer probes outbreak narratives in film, television, and a variety of other media, putting them in conversation with rhetoric from government authorities and news organizations that have capitalized on public fears about our changing world. She identifies three distinct types of outbreak narrative, each corresponding to a specific contemporary anxiety: globalization, terrorism, and the end of civilization. Schweitzer considers how these fears, stoked by both fictional outbreak narratives and official sources, have influenced the ways Americans relate to their neighbors, perceive foreigners, and regard social institutions. Looking at everything from I Am Legend to The X Files to World War Z, this book examines how outbreak narratives both excite and horrify us, conjuring our nightmares while letting us indulge in fantasies about fighting infected Others. Going Viral thus raises provocative questions about the cost of public paranoia and the power brokers who profit from it. The complex nature of material and energy systems and the changing of economic and technological conditions differ among countries and, therefore, lead to the application of vastly different practices in developed and rapidly developing countries of the world. A wide variety of theoretical approaches can be used to facilitate a shift from the linear use of resources to circular systems, e.g., circular product planning, life cycle planning, sharing and platform economy, refurbishing, and remanufacturing, to name but a few. The introduction and examination of circular solutions can be based on theoretical models in order to guarantee ensure successful application. Successful application of innovative technology approaches, business solutions, and organizational development can be facilitated through theoretical models and new scientific results that support innovation processes. This Special Issue reprint focuses on sustainable and innovative methods which help and enable the proper use and recovery of resources. We present a collection of research papers, reviews, research reports, and case studies that introduce or discuss circular solutions for the sustainable use of resources.Circular Use of Resources Economics, Finance, Business and Managementbicsscbike-sharingbiomass utilisationBusiness Model Canvasbusiness sustainability movementscar-sharingCar2Gocarbon cyclecircular economycircular solutionclosed-loop recyclingCO2 emissionconsumer attitudesconsumer behaviordisposable paper diaperDriveNoweconomies of scaleenvironmental assessmentenvironmental burdenfixed bed pyrolysisfood wasteGreenGohuman economicsJapanLCAlife cyclelife cycle assessment (LCA)local foodmaterial recyclingMOL LIMOoxidation-reduction zonepaper productionproducersproduct lifecyclerecyclereduction of tar in gasservice-based economyshared officesharing economyshort supply chainshort supply chainssustainabilitysustainable developmentthe significance of biomass particle sizewater consumptionwater footprintEconomics, Finance, Business and ManagementPopp József H.cedt1299051Csaba FogarassyedtFinger David ChristianedtPopp József H.cothCsaba FogarassyothFinger David ChristianothBOOK9910557734403321Circular Use of Resources3025004UNINA00871nam0-22003131i-450-99000202892040332120070205135908.00-12-714150-2000202892FED01000202892(Aleph)000202892FED0100020289220030910d1972----km-y0itay50------baengAphid technologywith special reference to the study of aphids in the fielded. by H.
