All the papers describe careful empirical research, and as such will be of great interest to anyone working, or intending to work, in the specific field of second language phonological acquisition. International Experience with Integrated Financial Sector Supervision /Martin Cihak, Richard PodpieraWashington, D.C. :International Monetary Fund,2006.1 online resource (32 p.)IMF Working Papers"March 2006."1-4518-6317-9 ""Contents""; ""I. INTRODUCTION""; ""II. TRENDS IN INTEGRATED SUPERVISION""; ""III. REVIEW OF LITERATURE ON INTEGRATED FINANCIAL SUPERVISION""; ""IV. ANALYSIS OF INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE WITH INTEGRATED SUPERVISION""; ""V. CONCLUSIONS""; ""REFERENCES""Over the past two decades, there has been a clear trend toward integrating the regulation and supervision of banks, nonbank financial institutions, and securities markets. This paper reviews the international experience with integrated supervision. We survey the theoretical arguments for and against the integrated supervisory model, and use data on compliance with international standards to assess the validity of some of these arguments. We find that (i) full integration is associated with higher quality of supervision in insurance and securities and greater consistency of supervision across sectors, after controlling for the level of development; and (ii) fully integrated supervision is not associated with a significant reduction in supervisory staff.IMF Working Papers; Working Paper ;No. 2006/057Banks and bankingState supervisionFinancial services industryRegulationState supervisionBanks and BankingimfFinance: GeneralimfIndustries: Financial ServicesimfBusiness and FinancialimfGeneral Financial Markets: Government Policy and RegulationimfBanksimfDepository InstitutionsimfMicro Finance InstitutionsimfMortgagesimfFinancial Institutions and Services: Government Policy and RegulationimfFinancial Institutions and Services: GeneralimfFinancial services law & regulationimfBankingimfBank supervisionimfFinancial sectorimfBasel Core PrinciplesimfFinancial regulation and supervisionimfBanks and bankingimfState supervisionimfFinancial services industryimfLaw and legislationimfAustraliaimfBanks and bankingState supervision.Financial services industryRegulationState supervision.Banks and BankingFinance: GeneralIndustries: Financial ServicesBusiness and FinancialGeneral Financial Markets: Government Policy and RegulationBanksDepository InstitutionsMicro Finance InstitutionsMortgagesFinancial Institutions and Services: Government Policy and RegulationFinancial Institutions and Services: GeneralFinancial services law & regulationBankingBank supervisionFinancial sectorBasel Core PrinciplesFinancial regulation and supervisionBanks and bankingState supervisionFinancial services industryLaw and legislationCihak Martin1106217Podpiera Richard1546574International Monetary Fund.Monetary and Financial Systems Dept.DcWaIMFBOOK9910788405603321Is One Watchdog Better Than Three?
